Lost in at Sunset (Sablerose)

Attempting to reassert dominance, to me, if not to her sister. Though Calla's smile was aimed to the pair, it was more for recognizing Naya's embarrassment and her need to try to prove that she was still strong enough to protect Meh, even after Meh showed her up twice. "All right then, let's get back on to the path." She looked up at the sky and frowned. "It'll be dark here in minutes now, and it'll already be dark in the hedges."

She muttered a phrase under her breath as she raised one hand just over her head. A small yellowish ball of light appeared, the strength of its light growing slowly until, when it finished, it was about the same brightness of a torch without the flicker. She lowered her hand, and it stayed floating above her head.

"Stay close now," she said seriously. "I'll get us back to where I came through the hedges on the path and we can come back out to where I entered to begin with. You two ready?"

[Naya-Meh]

Meh watched closely as the woman did her magical druid things. She wanted to know if she could do that, but she hadn't heard all of the phrase. It seemed the girl was keeping it to herself. A pitty. Her spheres were blue, but she didn't really need them.

"Whatever let's go," Naya said and Meh looked at her. It seems there is still a long ways to go befroe she opens up to others. Meh though then smiled as she thought about how she would have her sister all to herself until then.

"Please lead the way." Meh said happily. She was lookign forward to finally getting out of this place and seeing Master Lumi. Ahhh! She was so huggable, but Meh wanted to know if her Master had anyone to keep her company when the two of them were away.

The path back to where Calla had passed through the hedge line was easy enough to follow, even just by the light of her will 'o wisp. In the wild, she would have been listening for predators or other things that might have taken an unusual interest in her presence. But with the Gardens, the worst she might have to deal with was someone looking to escape Court.

She found her entry spot quickly. The area still hummed lightly to her of the magic she had used, though it would fade in a short time. She repeated her spell to the hedge, which opened slightly more quickly this time. Then she gestured for the others to pass through. "If I go through first, it'll cancel the spell, so you two need to go on first. I'll be right behind you, though."

[Naya-Meh]

Naya followed the druid watching her every move. She wasn’t about to be caught off guard when that light ball turned into a fireball or something like that. Meh had moved in and followed her by holding her in a hug, and Naya had basically been carrying her the whole way. It wasn’t something that she wasn’t used to. Meh seemed to shy away from the physical even walking… or maybe she just liked to be that close to Naya. A Blush crossed her face and she continued on.

Meh moved off of Naya as soon as they came to a stop and was back as if she had been holding her hand the whole time by the time the druid had turned around to look at them. Naya stared at the woman her eyes narrowed. It seemed she would have to accept the conditions if they were true… which she was sure they were. Magic always had to be difficult.

In one fluid motion she turned swept Meh’s feet from under her caught her sister and was carrying her bridal style. She watched the druid as she slowly moved closer. Meh’s hands went around her neck and she held herself close to Naya.

Naya’s eyes darted away from the druid woman for an instant to inspect where she was about to step then slowly walked on through. “Wheee!” Meh said happily throwing one of their hands in the air and leaving the other around Naya’s neck. This is fun! We should do this more often~.

“Not gonna happen…. You’re heavy.” Naya said even though the other wasn’t. It brought about the appropriate response of a pouting face and the common rebuttal of “no I’m not!”

True to her word (despite what Naya might think of her), Calla followed the pair through the hedge. And, as soon as she was through, it closed with a rustle.

She looked around a moment to get her bearings again. "This way," she said. "So do you two live in town or in the castle?" she asked, more out of the attempt at small talk than to gain actual information. However, she suspected that Naya would probably not want to answer, if for no other reason than Calla had asked.

[Naya-Meh]

Meh was happy. It was fun being carried like this by her sister. She didn’t have to work and she could be close like this. Naya had turned so Meh looked around at the new pathway… which looked exactly like the old pathway. She would think of that as strange anywhere else but here. At least now it wasn’t so scary… now that she knew they were getting out of here.

Naya’s mouth opened to reply and Meh had been waiting for the obvious one. Naya had stopped her from talking so now it was her turn! “You donmmmph!” Naya said but was stopped as Meh’s mouth closed over it. She made sure to glance at the other girl as she kissed Naya a bit more deeply than she should have.

When she pulled away Naya’s eyes were wide open and once more her face was crimson. Hehe! “We live with Master Lumi,” but it’s a secret where it is.” Meh said with a wink and a giggle.

Calla was beginning to doubt just how close these two were. Then again, it seemed that Meh had a very playful nature, and what would have seemed taboo to most others was just a way to play with and embarrass her sister. Not that Naya couldn't use a bit of loosening up. She was protective almost to the point of smothering. But the fact that Meh seemed to have little to no problem with her methods left Calla wondering just how much Naya's fierce exterior in dealing with individuals other than her sister was a way to cover up a jealous streak.

"Well, if it's a secret, you don't have to tell me," Calla replied. "I just hope you two will be okay once we get you out of here. I'm here visiting myself. Maybe we'll run into each other at a later time."

[Naya-Meh]

Naya looked at the woman as she ecovered her composure... and tried to get the taste of Meh's mouth out of her own. The woman didn't seem to mind it though so Naya brushed her off as one fo those types that if she were their master she would be doing all kinds of things with Meh for the woman's veiwing pleasure.

She wouldn't have been the first so Naya knew she would n't have been the last. She was just waiting for 'Master Lumi' to make them do it... so she could hit her. Of course this would be when Meh wasn't looking. "We'll be fine I can get Meh back to the house. Just get us out of here." naya said grumpily.

Meh giggled againand laid her head on Naya's chest. "She can get us home safely." She said happily to the druid... whose name Naya had forgotten.

Finding the second passage she had made through the hedges was just about as easy as the finding the first. By now, though, the sun had all but set, and darkness had enveloped the trio. Thanks to the height of the plants, it was like walking through a tunnel of darkness, with only the light Calla provided to illuminate the path.

As she had last time, Calla activated the spell and the hedge opened to provide access. "It's up to you two if you want me to escort you further. If you don't want me to know where you are, I understand. But if you would feel safer with someone along, I can do that as well." She indicated for them to pass through first again. "I just want you both to be safe, whichever way you choose."

[Naya-Meh]

Meh smiled at the girl in front of them even if she couldn’t see it due to the darkness that enshrouded them. Maybe Naya would feel by the time they were out that she had been a good person after all. Breaking Naya’s hate on others was going to take a lot more time and work, but Meh was more than happy to expend it.

“Thank you for the offer.” She said happily and left her head resting on Naya’s chest. Naya started to grumble about overly helpful people and Meh ignored it and continued. “I do not know if Master Lumi would like someone following us home. She may think something is strange and protect us.” At least that was what Lumi hoped would happen if a stranger suddenly showed up with them. Master Lumi gallantly coming to their rescue. She could see it in her mind and she liked the scene.

"I understand," Calla said sympathetically. "Bringing home a stranger might not go over all that well." After the two had passed through, she did as well, and, as before, the plants slipped back into place with a quiet rustle. "I do hope that you two will come by and see me at some point in the future, though. I'd love to hear more about you. Just ask for Sablerose at the Castle. Someone should be able to direct you my way."

[Naya-Meh]

Naya didn’t mind it so much… if it made Master Lumi mad then all the better. Besides she may get angry enough to hurt the druid and that was all the better. Besides the druid cheated their way out. Sure it was dark, but it was rather disappointing she had thought the woman knew the way out… not this cheap shortcut. Alas it was fine so long as Meh was safe, which seemed to be so… and she would keep it that way.

“Thank you for leading us out.” Meh said then tightened her hold around Meh’s neck as if saying to her to say the same. Naya grumbled in her mind for a few moments before finally doing the same. “Thanks for leading us out.” She said.

“Now let’s get back before master Lumi gets mad at us I want to see her again!” Meh said throwing one of her hands into the air. “We will look you up when Master Lumi comes to the castle again… she’s here for some event thing.” Meh said waving. Naya thought that if she had her way they would never see the druid again.

Despite Meh's words, Calla knew that Naya wanted nothing more to do with their guide. Whatever else the catgirl was, she was, at the very least, predictable in that. Calla doubted that she had affections for anyone outside of her sister. That was all well and good, but she feared that there would come a day when someone would charm Meh enough to push Naya to the edge of breaking. On that day, she would fear for the safety of both girls.

"The pleasure was mine," Calla said, giving the pair a slight bow from the waist. "Safe travels to you both." With a slight turn away, Calla added "Naya, you are and admirable guardian for your sister. But never forget that she guards you as well. Protect each other. And if you ever need me to help, let me know and I will come and defend you both."

With that last offer, Calla turned and made her way back toward the Castle proper.
