The grounds immediately before the castle, right in front of the gate. A common arrival point for visiting nobles and royal guests.

The main entrance of the castle, just beyond the massive front doors. The Main Hall is furnished with many chairs and chaises, mirrors, and tables, and servants are readily available, making this a great place for socialization.

A spectacularly tall tower, located on the left of the castle when seen from the front. The highest room is one of the two highest points in the castle, and the entrance is on the ground floor.

Perhaps the most vast collection of information in the empire, the castle library stands several stories high and is a sight to behold. If you want information, you'll find it here.

Sophisticated, elegant balls are held here monthly. There's a stage, with a piano in the corner and room for a string quartet--or, really, anyone who could theoretically be hired to play here. In the center of the ceiling hangs an ornate chandelier, and paintings and candelabras were placed at regular intervals along the walls. Rumor has it the floor tiles shift into new patterns when the room is empty.

Not only is this the center of the castle, some say it is the center of the very empire. Occasionally, the princess, emperor, and empress will hold court here. No one is allowed in without an invitation from the imperial family.

Enormous, ornate, and beautiful, the banquet hall regularly serves the three meals of the day.

General sitting and gathering room, and social hub. People often entertain themselves by chatting or playing cards, and servants regularly bring refreshments.

Located on the second floor of the castle, this is where guests invited to the ball are given rooms.

Where the food is. This place is always bustling around mealtime, and staff and cooks regularly come and go here. Still, when it's not crowded, it's peaceful, and always the place to go in search of a late night snack.

Sub-board: Maire's Chambers

The terrain is varied; you'll find first fields, then forest and even a river. Sometimes organized hunts are carried out, but it's perfectly okay to just run off on a ride.

Row upon row of storage spaces for horses of castle guests and castle-dwellers. The nobility tend to be able to get their hands on nicer places.

For the longest time a fading center of economic activity, Rosae Crucis has in the last decade become revived with a flood of local magic-users. There are spells, books, scrolls, and even some workshops.

Sub-board: The Dragon's Talon

The center of culture and high-class entertainment. Here you'll find followers of the arts--painters, singers, actors--as well as poetry readings. It's the place to go for a performance, the place to live if you wish to be surrounded by culture and inspiration.

Sub-boards: Rin's Home, The Order of Assassins

Located just below Mont Nuit, this is the roughest part of town. Brothels, inns, taverns, playhouses and the like are everywhere, and slaves are sold here. You can find a cheap place to stay here.

Sub-boards: The House of Earthly Delights, The Bard and Ballista

Gentle, sometimes slightly sloping plains that lead into a shoreline. Local creatures include mermaids, centaurs, sirens, and water nymphs--anything that enjoys water or flat land, really. Both, even.

A series of roads holds the empire together. A natural choice if you'd like to get from place to place.

A rocky region where even the most unreasonable people tend to wear shoes. The Sanguine Mountains are the tallest of the jagged stones. Tread carefully--dragons, ogres, mountain nymphs, and all sorts of other nasties lurk here.

Woodlands and dense forests, with a few paths and a lake thrown in for good measure. You'll find forest-dwellers such as unicorns, fae, and wood nymphs here. However, the heart of the woods has a floor suffocated for light and is largely unexplored.
