GENERAL APPEARANCE: Terra is taller than most of the female palace guards, but is far from he tallest of them in general. Her body is toned from years of working out and use of her sword. All signs of her pampered and easily brought up first six years of her life have been erased. All save the brand on her lower back establishing her fathers treachery.

Her clothes are made for her and in most cases she isn't given an option on what to wear. Her job... and status all factor together.

PERSONALITY: Terra's personality could be summed up easily as straightly narrow. She follows the rules in nigh on everything she does. Regulations come before all else and the sacrifice of few comes before the many. Should that few not contain Anactoria.

She would happily jump to any task appointed by the girl, this of course is due to her understanding the girl would never have her BEAT someone for no reason or kill for no reason. She would be torn should such an order pass through the lips of the girl. Would she do it? Well that won't happen so it isn't an issue.

BACKGROUND: The Valah Family has served the Sapphis family for generations. Though the working up was quite slow and eventually her grandfather was granted the title of Count. He died a happy man knowing his family was now in a position that could make a difference in the country.

However, Her father was greedy and if the rumors were to be believed quite insane. Count Valah thinking himself a better ruler than the sapphis's decided to start a revolt and take over the kingdom... or at least part of it. People came to wonder who this mad man was as in his youth he had no such ideal's and people believed it was the work of demons that drove him into this mad quest.

It did not take long to quell the rebellion started by Count Valah. In his benevolence the King spared but one member of the disgraced family the daughter. Though her rank was stripped from her and she was relegated to a position of little importance. She would be raised to serve the royal family as a guard.

It took Terra but two years to grow out of her pampered state. At first she thought the world was against her and she rebelled against the unjust actions that were thrust upon her. She was beaten both physically and mentally by royals who hated her family name. She would eventually find her resolve at the age of eight and start to improve herself rapidly. both academics and physical labor were easy to her if she put her mind to the task.
At the age of 12 she met the nearly six year old Anactoria for the first time. Her views on the girl were simple. She was... a pampered girl as Era had once been. She of course introduced herself to the girl as she was told doing great respect to her teachers in etiquette. The girl seemed... disinterested in her and that was easy enough to understand.

Of course she had the unlucky event of having the princess ask about the brand on her back which she was told must be visible at all times save when the weather suggested a cloak. a snide comment by a noble told the girl what it meant and in her childish naivety she insulted Terra deeply. She admits now that her mind had gone blank and... she had lashed out at the girl knocking her to the ground. A costly lapse in judgment.

She was... beaten as an easy way of putting it. Afterwards she was locked in a cell for nearly two months her life was surely over. Somehow she was saved by the very person who's childish naivety had placed her in this predicament. So... her training began anew and she watched over the girl as they both grew the girl into her teens and Terra out of them.

She recalls a few incidents during Anactoria's life she is sure the girl would rather forget. At the age of 20 when Anactoria was 14 Terra was appointed her personal guard. How this occurred is... beyond her. Though she has always suspected it was the princess herself. The WHY of it all never adds up in her head though so she leave it as a passing thought and continues in her duties... which seem to grow harder as the girl continues to grow up.

One such incident is of course the girls disappearance. She was chastised for not knowing where Anactoria was. Was she not her personal guard? Had she let herself slip? It wasn't long after she had been locked away for her impudence that she was released to search for the girl. The father was growing... desperate and her wanted someone who knew the girl well to go and look for her. Once again the reason she had been locked away had been her salvation. Now... she merely had to LOCATE the girl.

She searched... ohh did she search, but to no avail. Not a trace of the princess could be found and while searching for the girl she was... injured or rather attacked. She DID manage to save herself, but her wounds permitted not but to wait for them to heal. It took... far to long and her return to the castle was not a pleasant one.

The King thinking she had abandoned her duties was going to have her thrown out the disgrace of her family a permanent stain on the history of the kingdom and no chance for redemption through her actions. Yet... again she was saved by the girl... WHY? Why was the girl insistent on saving her. Why was she not merely cast aside as some forgotten toy?
