GENERAL APPEARANCE: Azhani is not your typical dainty princess with fair skin and long, flowing hair. Her skin has been well tanned by the desert sun, and she's gained quite the fit figure from her rather...active lifestyle. She has a toned stomach and arms, as well as muscular legs. Though her breasts are a bit on the smaller side, she makes up for it with her ample hips. While her dark skin and slim, athletic build would catch the eyes of some to begin with, Azhani's most stiking features are her bright blue eyes. Even in the darkness, they heavily contrast her skin tone, but when exposed to the light, some have said they even give off the appearance of shining.
While other princesses generally dress modest and conservitavely, Azhani is often seen covering no more than the bare minimums. Accustomed to the desert's glaring heat and light, she's grown into the habit of wearing hoods. Unfortunately, the desert's savage wildlife have also taught Azhani to always tuck her pant legs into her boots and never be caught without a weapon.

PERSONALITY: Azhani is as complex as she is simple. She is as transparent as she is opaque. While one moment she may be a liar and a thief, the next she may decide to be an honorable knight come to save the day. One can never be quite sure just what Azhani is thinking. She considers everything a game and considerably enjoys being one step ahead of her opponent at all times. She will tell the truth when others expect her to lie, and tell the truth again even when others expect it of her, aware that they will most likely believe she's lying anyway. As honest as she may or may not be, Azhani constantly gives off an aura that reeks of ulterior motives, and she always holds a look in her eyes as if she knows far more that she lets on.
Despite this, Azhani seems to have a strong sense of loyalty, as she has proven time and time again that she would never betray her family or her country. This loyalty extends to anyone close to her, including friends and comrades, though she has exhibited an apparent willingness to betray those who have paid for her services in favor of a more lucrative offer. Azhani is capable of great ruthlessness, even cruelty, when it comes to business or combat, but in general, she has shown an equal capacity for kindness and openness. She believes that all people should be given the chance to prove themselves trustworthy or untrustworthy, regardless of her own tainted reputation.

SPECIAL SKILLS: As a princess, Azhani is well versed in the arts of etiquette and manners. However, as a spy and assassin, she is also highly trained in many forms of combat. She is in peak physical form, making her capable of great feats of speed, agility, dexterity, and strength. She is also fluent in various languages and a skilled flute player.
WEAPONS: Though she can make a weapon out of almost anything, Azhani is trained in the use of bows, one-handed swords, short sword, and an asortment of knives and throwing knives. Her most valued weapons, however, are Rau and Thul, a pair of kukri that have been in the royal family for generations. Also included in her arsenal, though they are not physical weapons, are smoke bombs and poisons.
MAGICAL ABILITIES: Azhani cannot actively use magic. She does, however, have a magically enhance physiology, making her physically superior to most others. Her body is resistant to magical attacks, and she is stronger, faster, and more durable than any normal human. Azhani has heightened sense, but special senses of sight and smell. While she has incredibly sharp eyesight during the day, her vision is equally precise at night or in other dark settings. She also has the unique ability to "smell" magic, allowing her to distinguish those with magical talents and anything made or infused with magic.

BACKGROUND: Azhani's story starts at least a thousand years ago, when an army of bandits from the far East, the S'hin, invaded a small kingdom in the desert. These bandits - merciless and fearless - quickly took the kingdom for their own, and thus Z'hakaat was born. Since that time, Z'hakaat has become a public refuge for thieves, assassins, exiles, and merchants of everything from clothes to poisons. It is a kingdom where thieving is the law and laws are meant to be broken. Thoughout the centuries, rumors have spread of the daily atrocities that occur in the kingdom - mugging, murder, rape - and both fear and chastise it. However, bandits they may be, the citizens of Z'hakaat are far from ignorant.
Though Z'hakaat has always maintained a stern balance between assisting their allies and stealing from them, the kingdom's well-known habit of backdoor trading and betrayal have earned it a dishonorable reputation, causing heavy tension between it and any nation it deals with. This is the pressing isue that Ha'assin Nizam, Z'hakaat's current king, has inherited. When his daughter, Fa'raazhin Azhani, was born, she became the key to her kingdom's future, the ray of hope. From her bright blue eyes, Nizam knew that Azhani had been born a Ha'zhansin, or "child or the gods." The Ha'zhansin were an ancient race of S'hin warriors; they were stronger, faster, and superior to the others in every way.
As the first Ha'zhansin born in twenty years, Azhani was raised to be a living weapon. The moment she could stand was the moment she could hold a sword. While other children were playing games and learning how to read and write, Azhani was being taught the basics of combat and espionage. When she was six, she was made to play a game involving choosing from three baskets: two holding poisonos scropions and one holding a gold coin. At the age of nine, she was taken out into the desert, given only a knife, and told to make her way back to the kingdom. At thirteen, she had an assassin sent after her in her sleep. After passing the third and final test, Azhani was named the leader of the Sh'akain, the king's personal task force, and given the royal kukri - Rau and Thul - as proof of her position.
Azhani since server her father loyally in whatever was asked of her. She has played whatever role he saw fit to cast her in, whether it be a common thief, a spy, an assassin, even extending her services to other kingdoms - for a small fee, of course - all the while, retaining the grace and dignity of a princess. After six years of bloodshed and betrayal, however, Azhani and the Sh'akain were abruptly given a new task: nothing. Following Princess Anactoria's diappearance, Azhani was not stripped of her titles, but rather, simply her duties. As time passed, Azhani's curiosity grew. Why had her father suddenly asked her to be idle? Was it related to Terre de Conte's missing princess? Why wouldn't he answer any of her questions? The answers never came, but new orders from her father did. As the news of Princess Anactoria's return and her search for a bride spread, Azhani was chosen singly by her father to travel to Terre de Conte. Whether to compete for the princess's hand or rob the kingdom blind, he would not say; only that she would know when she arrived. So she did as she had always done, in spite of her lack of direction, and loyally obeyed her father's command.
