A dreary reality (open)

[Naya-Meh]

Naya looked out of the rather large cage they were in. For some reason they had been brought far from the river her and her sister Meh had arrived at. It was nearly night time now and she was sure they were just going to be left out in the cold that night. A perfect time to escape… were the cage not magically sealed in some way. Meh had tried a few tricks, but hadn’t been able to do anything to it. So here they sat and Naya couldn’t help but snuggle up closer to Meh as the cool wind from the river blew up and over them. It seemed things were going to get cold tonight after all.

“Oii! At least give us a blanket you A$$’s! do you want your merchandise to freeze!!?” Naya yelled out to whomever may be around guarding them.

The butt of a spear banged loudly against the metal bars of the cage. Sending a ringing thrum deep down into her ear drums. “Shut it girl or you’ll be coming with us tonight for fun. The boss says he don care if you can’t keep quiet. Hehe if we don give you’s the blanket then you may even want some warmth right?”

She could clearly see the man in the dim light with two other men and a female guard. None of them said a word aside from the one. It seemed she would have to comply. It wasn’t like it would be the first time her and her sister were used and tossed aside into the den of wolves. Slavery wasn’t easy business. It’s not like they were people right? They were merely objects, tools to be used however their owner wished. The pirates had wished for only one thing on the ride over here and that was a free ride.

Male, Female, both, neither it didn’t matter they were forced to comply with the owners wishes. It wasn’t like they had made it very far into puberty before that bastard first owner had had his way with them. One reason for his death was his making Meh cry. He had cried in the end… and if she had her way so would that whole pirate crew and the guards outside the cage. Not that she was going to get her way, but thinking about it always made her feel better.

"I'll take them."The voice of a young girl was heard from the distance.

Naya and Meh couldn't see the girl at first, but she became noticeably clearer as she drifted towards them in the moon light. Her body lived up to her name, she truly was a young girl. Physically anyways. With a small posture and long white hair and pale skin she could've passed as Lolita's ghost.

"How much are they?"Alumina asked the man. She had moved into Terre De Conte recently, and it was true she could cook for herself. But cleaning? That was another story, she had always had servants do that dirty business for her.

"And..do I have to take both of them?"Alumina continued. She crouched down and peeked into the cage, but she couldn't make out much since it was so dark outside, casting a shadow over it. "If so I'm fine with it...just as long as they're not too much trouble together."

Alumina's blue eyes narrowed a bit,"I suppose I've forgotten to ask the most important question of all though..."Alumina grinned suddenly,her fangs becoming noticeable. "What in the world are thier names?"

[Naya-Meh]

Meh stared out of the cage wiping her eyes with her hands and a light yawn escaping her mouth. “Naya? What’s going on?” Meh asked turning to look at her sister who was tightly hugging her and staring at a girl outside of the cage. Meh’s head cocked to the side. Hmm… who was this cute little girl?

“I… I’ll go get the boss he’ll tell you what you want to know.” The guard said then glared at the girls back and his own fellow guards. “You three keep watch.” The man said and with one more look at the two Neko twins he walked off. Meh was confused… what had she missed?

“Meh, what do you think of the girl at the side of the cage?” naya asked her still hugging her tightly. Meh’s own hands moved around her sister and hugged her back.

“She seems cute, is she a new slave? Poor girl.” Meh said and Naya shook her head. Hmm? Then what was going on?

“Ok then who the HELL is coming shopping this late ehh?” Came the gruff and loud voice of some man walking out of the darkness.

Alumina heard muffled sounds coming from the cage but she couldn't pick up exactly what they were saying. She leaned in closer to get a better listen but by then a large man in a rather rude voice had walked up and startled her.

Alumina growled in annoyance and stood up. "I am. You're lucky I'm here anyways..."she said poking the man in the stomach with her parasol. "I want to buy these two 'kittens', but I need some answers first."

She put her parasol behind her back and cleared her throat, then repeated the questions, obviously annoyed she had to in the first place. "How much are they?Do I have to take both of them? And what are their names?"

[Naya-Meh]

Naya found the poking funny. Rather she wished it had been a sword than a parasol. and then she wouldn't have to deal with the bastard. He was on her to kill list, for the last month and after her one attempt the fat man hadn't come near her... or Meh as was the threat.

The man looked down at the girl before hi as naya could see it he was sizing her up... not that it took long with the girl. "Heh, well little girl they come as a pair seeing as you take one the other would kill itself. The two of 'em ain't cheap they got fightin experiance so that takes the price up, their looker and experianced in many ways once again the price raises. You got to buy them both so that's a double fee, then a little girl like you wakes me up after closin time to answer yer questions so the price goes up again. 200 Gold peices is the price, and the names are Naya and Meh, but I don give a F*** what you calls 'em after ya take 'em from here."

Naya looked at the fat man then down at the little girl. Heh... she might cry from the tone the man had. It was funny she had new respect for him... it also made her want to stab him more. The man glanced in thier direction and smiled, "But seein as you're just a little girl why don you go get one of your parents and we can settle this hmm? I don do buisness wit children."

Yes... Stab him with your giant umbrella thing again little girl. If she did Naya might even laugh. A rarity, but it would be funny to see.

Naya sort-of got her wish.

Alumina clenched her fists in anger, obviously hurt and unbelieving that anyone would have the rights to talk to her like the way this big bafoon did. Alumina lifted up her parasol and slammed the man across the face,leaving a large bloody scratch.

"Listen up,bastard."Alumina said in a cold voice. "First of all. Do. Not. Call. Me A. Little. Girl. Understand?"she then spat at the ground in disgust,"Second of all, I would've come during the day, but your face disgusted me so much I didn't want to see it in the light."

She smirked and gave a quit look towards the twins with cat-ears then back at the man,"So I'll be paying 100. Is that a deal?"

Naya C0cked an eye brow as Meh turned away from the scene. Well now THAT was funny. Stupid, but funny. The man spit out a tooth then opened the damn thing in a toothy grin… or rather slightly toothless one. Yes, yes the man was obviously proud of his chest beating bar brawls that he had both won and lost.

“Listen Girl… I’ve eaten bigger things than you fer breakfast. Hell… Right now I could eat YOU for breakfast and I’d probably get out of town before anyone knew otherwise.” A smirk crossed the mans face. :I could even throw you in dat cage with ‘em and get out of town before anyone noticed. So be a nice little girl and pay me the 210 take the damn Cat Bi***’s off my hands or get out ‘o my sight.”

Fatty had guts insulting the girl. Naya smirked. She wanted to see him get slapped again. Not like Naya could do anything to help the girl fight off the fat man and his four guards with her in the cage… or like she would even help the girl anyways. But hey whatever it was an entertaining bed time story at least.

Alumina sighed. She knew she could take this guy down easilly if she tried hard enough, but it was a waste of time and energy. Besides, she wouldn't want her new reputation in Venus smeared enough as it was. (Making out with a lowly shop-keeper?Visiting a whore house? Better keep it on the down low...)

Alumina decided to haggle instead. "Fine I'll pay..."She said grudgingly, "But I'll only pay part of what you offered." She went though her head on what would be a good price and then settled,"How about 150?"

"Take it or leave it,"she continued. "I'd suggest you take it since you don't want this proper business of your's being smeared by word of mouth. Imagine the entire town talking about illegal slave trading in these parts,"she said giving a toothy grin back at the man,though her's was filled with fangs.

[Naya-Meh]

Meh was kind of lost as to what exactly was gone on, but the Slaver guy that Naya always bad mouthed seemed to be actually pondering the girls offer. See he wasn’t such a bad guy after all just misunderstood. Meh knew it all along and she wondered how he was going to get that wound treated. Not that it mattered if he accepted since Meh wouldn’t ever see him again. She was rather happy on that front.

Meh could only watch from the cage as their lives passed to yet another person. “Chh fine whatever 150 jes give it to the guys and get yerself and them damn cats out of muh sight. Just being near them makes me break out in hives.” Meh was confused as to how that started. She could swear it was right after he took Naya with him one night. Ohh well she was just glad that Naya said he would never come near them again.

She hugged her sister close and snuggled into her. She was happy they were going together, and maybe this master wouldn’t be mean like the slavers and their original master was. Or want those things… that they wanted.

Alumina's grin grew wider. She slammed the gold into the palm of the man and without hesitation got onto her knees and approached the cage. She pulled two leashes out of God-knows-where and opened the cage doors.

"Hello ladies..."Alumina said attaching the leashes to the necks of the two neko. "I suppose it looks like you're coming home with me tonight."she said gently pulling the leashes to pull them out of the cage.

"Nice doing business with you..."Alumina the slave-driver,"Maybe I'll come back...maybe."

Naya… was rather mad. Apparently the girl had a death wish because… she WAS going to die. What the hell were the leashes for huh? Were they some kind of animals that couldn’t follow on their own? Did she think they would run off? Chh at least give them the human decency and let them walk with hands tied or waist bands.

Apparently the little girl had some kind of fetish and Naya and her sister were supposed to satisfy it. Naya wasn’t going to let things go down like that, but she would follow her for now. She could always kill the girl later and escape. It would be easier for her and Meh to get away from this one than all those troublesome guards the fat man had.

Meh was all giddy with excitement to be out of the cage Naya actually let herself smile. The guards snickered and Naya kicked a rock very discreetly bouncing it off a wall so it would hit the man that had hit the cage with his spear. It was a clean shot to the head and he glared at his compatriots as if they had done it. Heh who had the last laugh moron?

She was already staring her escape plan now. Killing the girl might be avoidable. After all she HAD provided Naya with some entertainment. So she supposed she would owe the girl a favor and Meh would complain if she just up and offed her.

Alumina watched as Naya bounced the rock across the wall in amusement. Troublemaker?Huh... she said slightly impressed. But not impressed enough to be afraid of the neko. She was master of her domain after all and was used to being so.

As they made their way down the darker parts of town not a word was spoken between the three, until the passed by a street merchant who sold jewelry. Alumina suddenly stopped, turned to the two and arched an eye-brow.

"Don't even think about it."she said in a stone cold voice, narrowing her eyes at Naya. She smiled,"Escaping's for pansies. I thought you'd at least have the guts and the courage to stick it out to the little one,"Alumina then pointed at Meh.

Without a word Alumina turned around again, pulling the kittens behind her.

Meh was ecstatic. They had finally been bought by someone now she just had to hope that this person was nice. Easy enough right? Hoping had not gotten her anywhere so far in life, but it had to pay off eventually and besides even if things turned out bad she still had Naya. With a smile she turned to face her sister the other was staring at the masters back. Hmm… she wondered what that was all about.

She was confused as to what was going on as they suddenly came to a stop and the Master started to speak about escaping or something like that. Why would they want to escape so soon? It seemed the Master already had some problem with Naya, and Meh hoped it wouldn’t escalate to something troublesome.

Then… just as suddenly as they had stopped they were walking again behind the cute little girl that was their new master. Meh wondered what they would be doing for the girl. Ohh well it couldn’t be THAT bad right? “Hey Naya~ aren’t these collars and leashes so cool?~” Meh said happily looking at her sister. Naya stared at her like she was weird and they continued on.
