Stranded Lives how many pieces...?
|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || Nerys seemed to be spending a lot of time at the waterfront as of late, sitting on the pier and clinging her knees against her chest. Al was nestled comfortably on the young princess' shoulder. They both knew why she was there. The water was calming, watching it's gentle sway as the people working along the coast of the water tried in vain to control the rocking ocean. Boats moved outside of their control while ropes attempted to reign them in. Ships...just like the one Nerys had used to leave her homeland so long ago. She shook her head wildly, hair flying from its usual messy hold, throwing the thoughts aside. Dizzily, Nerys attempted to stand. A wobbly step sent her crashing to the ground while Al's silent laughter reverberated through her soul. || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ((OOC: Sorry it's so bad. Stupid muse went and ran away...))

Bethany didn't leave the pet shop too often. It wasn't that she was a shut-in or anything, she just simply didn't like exploring the outside world all that often. The inside-world had pets, and was warm, and had food. What more could you ask for from the outside?
Nonetheless even Bethany got a bit bored every now and then. So she closed her shop up for the day, lifted herself into her wooden wheel-chair, which she had to get someone else to make. And it cost a lot of money since many wheel chairs weren't found those days.
Bethany read in books and heard from others that water, even just by looking at it,helps sooth the soul, she rolled her wheel-chair along the dock only to see a pretty girl stand up and suddenly fall down almost violently, making Bethany gasp.
Bethany raced the wheels of her chair across the dock over to the poor girl, wondering if she was just someone who was young and silly and had had to much to drink for the night. "Are you ok..."Bethany asked, the eye that wasn't patched up went wide and reached a hand out towards Nerys.

|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || It was nice that someone was being considerate of her. Nerys pushed herself up far enough to see the hand being offered to her. "This girl is strange..." She pushed Al's thoughts aside and held out her own hand, hesitating for a moment before accepting the help offered her.
A moment later, the blonde was back on her feet and had regained her balance. Until that point, she hadn't bothered to look at the person who had so kindly helped her, despite her somewhat embarrassing fall. Flushing slightly, she glanced up and off-colored eyes widened in surprise.
Al was right, this person was strange. Unlike anyone she had ever seen before. Injuries and scars decorated what appeared to be a frail figure missing limbs and seated on the strangest chair that Nerys had ever seen. There was no one like this in all of Lunaria, and this was her first time seeing anyone so - pardon the phrase - disfigured since she had arrived on the mainland.
"Thank you for your assistance," she said, offering the slight bob of her head that passed as a bow. She knew Al would have something to say if she gave a proper bow: it wasn't her place as a princess, whether she was in the Witch Country or not. "I'm alright, I don't injure easily."
And it was true. Her protection magic had kept so much as a speck of dust from landing on her clothes. Nerys' hands snapped to her mouth and once again her eyes widened, although this time it was not an expression of surprise. Color flushed on her cheeks. She hoped that what she said hadn't been offensive.

Bethany could handle the shocked look on Nerys's face. She got that often, though no one ever said anything. And in all honesty, she was glad they didn't point it out. She didn't want to be like the disabled in stories who wanted people to speak to her face...that hurt too much.
So the girl didn't injure easily? Well maybe Bethany helping the woman wasn't such a bad thing. She did earn a new opportunity, and not many pretty girls would stick around after Beth helped them, most would just leave, since Beth made them uncomfortable.
Beth laid one hand in her lap and reached the other out for Nerys to take and shake,"I'm Bethany,Bethany Mills,"she said, her tone was monotone but polite anyways. "Have you been...uh...fine tonight?"Bethany asked.

|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || The light pink was beginning to fade from Nerys' cheeks, their natural color returning. Her hands dropped from their position over her mouth, revealing a gentle smile that never reached her differently colored eyes. Al fluttered nervously through the air before landing on one of the armrests of the strange chair.
"What is it? It's like...a chair that walks for you. Do you think they have wings that will fly for me, too?"
Nerys chose to ignore her familiar and instead once again took the other girl's hand. This time, in greeting. It wasn't Nerys' place to judge on appearance when others had so often done the same to her. "I'm Nerys Lamia," she responded amiably, wrapping her fingers gently around Bethany's.
She had learned from the innkeeper that this was a form of greeting on the mainland. Strange customs, these people. "I'm doing very badly, actually. I haven't gotten into any trouble lately..." It was a sobering thought.
"What about you? How does that chair move?" she asked suddenly, curious on a whim by Al's interest in the strange object.

Bethany slipped her hand away from Nerys's. A small bird landed on her wheel-chair as Nerys chatted. "How does it move?"Bethany paused in surprised and suddenly giggled,"Well I just move the wheels with my hands and I can get myself around."she explained.
Bethany frowned when she noticed the bird on her chair and frowned,as much as she loved animals she couldn't stand it when they bothered her. Bethany gently lifted her hand up and lightly waved near the bird hoping it'd get scared and fly off,"Shoo. Shoo."

|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || So, it hadn't been some sort of magic. Nerys was slightly disappointed.
Al had said this girl was strange. It was impossible to see one of her eyes, so there had been the possibility that this was another Lunarian in disguise. Nerys had never had such good luck. The last gleams of hope were distinguished by the stranger's reaction to Al. A fellow witch would have immediately recognized a familiar. Especially the familiar of a member of the royal family.
Curiosity was one of the witch's greatest downfalls. She glanced away nervously before speaking in hesitating tones, "Can I...see how it moves...?"
Al snorted in indignation, the expression inaudible to all but Nerys who frowned disapprovingly in the bird's direction.
"Does that really work on normal animals?"
Holding out her hand, palm up and beckoning toward her familiar, Nerys said, "No need to be so rude. Come here, you're making a nuisance of yourself..."
"Just because you insulted me, I may have to stay here."
With a dejected sigh, the blonde's attention turned to the strange newcomer. "I'm sorry about her. She's mine..." and had a terrible hobby of contradicting the young witch.

This girl was definitely nuts. She was a sweet-heart,but just a bit psycho. Bethany immediately got this feeling when started to argue with the bird of all things. Sure Bethany would talk to her animals occasionally, but she was only joking. She knew they couldn't talk back.
"Uhh.."Beth paused, realizing this girl was taking the bird seriously, but decided to help Nerys nonetheless since she seemed kind enough. And there was no way a little blond with a talking bird could damage Bethany.
Bethany decided to try something unexpected, she reached her hand out and pulled Nerys onto her lap. "Get read for a bumpy ride.."she grinned, as she began to push her wheels.

|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || Nerys was pulled unexpectedly onto the other girl's lap for a ride in the strange chair. For a brief moment, she wondered if it would have been easier to travel with such a contraption. But the thought quickly faded. Her way of travel was faster.
It was strange for a smile to reach the young witch's ordinarily sad eyes, but for a brief moment they twinkled as, out of sight on the back of the wheelchair, Al began to glow.
Bethany had been pushing the wheels, moving them slowly forward. Nerys held out her arm, hand outstretched. In a quick movement, she formed a fist. One more push from Bethany took them almost ten feet in an instant.

The girl didn't seem to protest when Beth "whisked" her away on her wheel-chair,which was good even if it was a bit strange. Though the real surprise came when Bethany felt her chair suddenly speed up and race across the dock at an alarming rate.
Bethany suddenly halted her chair to a stop, the smile dropped off of her face and she looked down at Nerys, eyes becoming wide. "Did you...did you do that!?"she spoke.

|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || Nerys' smile dropped off her face, replaced by a curious mix of somber and worried. The young woman tumbled off the front of the wheelchair as it came to an abrupt stop. Well, that spell had worked differently than it usually did.
Still glowing faintly - though the light was beginning to fade - Al settled on the witch's soft blonde hair.
She pushed herself up, her clothes once again impeccable. "Sorry, should I not have? I thought you might like it..." Finally, Al's faint glow faded. Nerys glanced quickly at the tiny bird, puzzled. Something had gone very wrong with the magic.
"Don't ask me...I don't know what happened.... I couldn't stop the power feed."
Her brows furrowed over her eyes. Well, this didn't seem the time to think about it. Nerys would have to get to the bottom of this at another point in time.

Bethany watched as Nerys came tumbling down off of her lap and chair and onto the wooden docks below making a thump noise, Bethany let out a gasp in shock. "I'm so sorry!"she said, her tone became saddened along with the mood as she reached out her hand towards Nerys.
"I just wasn't expecting anything to happen was all...I'm sorry if I force you to leave,"Bethany blushed. That's just great, one girl that didn't bother leaving her and stupid Bethany ended up scaring the pool thing instead.

|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || This time, Nerys didn't hesitate to take the hand offered to her. After pulling herself up, the young blonde unnecessarily brushed off her clothes. A small frown crossed over the witch's features. "Why should I have to leave?" she asked almost nervously.
Had she done something to inadvertently insult the other girl?
She nervously clasped her hands in front of her. "If you insulted her, it's out of your own stupidity..." The vote of confidence was overwhelming.
Perhaps, had it been rude of her to transport them? The spell had been simple: she had merely deleted the space between them and that spot a few feet away, erased the space's existence. It was filled up again quickly by the surrounding area, so the other girl couldn't have been upset by it.
Or had it perhaps been insulting to use magic that could move them so far and so quickly? Even worse, had Nerys' odd lack of control over the spell been problematic?
"Do you...think I should go...?" her voice a mix of curiosity and anxiety.

"No,no,no,no!"Bethany suddenly cried out at Nerys's shocking suggestion. It was as if the more she spoke the more she screwed up with the pretty blond, pushing her away more and more each time without meaning too.
"Ah,"Bethany's face turned red and she gave a reassuring smile hoping it would calm the girl down,"Actually I was hoping you would stay...I'm really sorry if I gave off the wrong impression."As Bethany apologized she leaned back in her chair and relaxed her shoulders.

|| ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || ♥ || ♥ || ♥ || &hearts || Nerys' off-colored eyes widened at Bethany's response. Was it possible that there was someone who genuinely enjoyed he company? Yes, there was Sablerose who was always kind, but the thought that Calla would actually want Nerys' company had never occurred to her. There were few people who genuinely sought her presence, particularly now with the situation in Lunaria....
"I'm sorry...." she said, thoroughly surprised. "It's just...I didn't offend you, did I?" she asked sincerely curious.
Nerys smiled, looking down at the girl in the mysterious moving chair. "Thank you..."
It was nice to not be hated.
