FULL NAME: Lizaveta Kardos

DOWN TO THE FINER POINTS
HEIGHT: 4'11
WEIGHT: 97
HAIR: short messy dark orange hair
EYES: Dark maroon
GENERAL APPEARANCE: A mousy and youthful looking young lady, who is often over-looked due to her short demeanor. She tends to dress in her shabby and baggy work clothes and most would assume (correctly) that she doesn't own one fine thread of clothing. Most people, when asked, would describe Liza as just being "cute".

PERSONALITY: The very definition of Wall Flower. Lizaveta is a painfully shy girl who doesn't like attracting attention to herself at all. She prefers just locking herself in a study and socializing with books and other documents. Liza can get easily flustered, especially when she is engaged in any sort of conversation. Basically, she becomes useless in most social situations. Which is why her suit of armor has become quite the hinderance, as it seems to enjoy being the center of attention.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Drawing, mathematics and designing and building complex machines
WEAPONS: Her suit of armor, Zolner, a shield and a very very large sword.
MAGICAL ABILITIES: None, really, but she is well versed in alchemy.
FAMILY: Birth parents are unknown, but she has been essentially the adopted daughter of Rom Royal Industrial's president Arkady Aurelius
BACKGROUND: An orphan in the city-nation of Volisov, Lizaveta spent her time idolizing the amazing creations that were shipped out of Rom Royal Industrial. The company that had been started by the Lady Kaja Kilvorion so long ago had done well by it's homeland and granted the small nation further advances in technology. In fact, it had united all of the islands into one, gigantic city that appeared to be floating on the sea. As a commoner, Liza had little access to any of the proper libraries, but her curiosity fueled her to sneak into RRI's own library. It was there, on that late night, that she had a fateful encounter with the President of RRI, Arkady Aurelius. A kindly old man, who had inherited the position after years of service to the company, Arkady saw the potential the young orphan had and took her in. She was quickly employed as his personal assistant and gradually was given more and more responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company's Research and Development program.
It was widely assumed that the President was grooming Lizaveta to be his successor. And, it would seem, that need would have to be filled sooner than anticipated. In the court of Volisov, the King, Ludwig Rom, was in declining health. With no heir, the entire council (along with the country as a whole) was awaiting word on who would inherit the throne. In years past, a king or queen with no heir would pass the title and the name of Rom on to a member of the council. But rumor had it, the King would be going against tradition and picking Arkady. Arkady was not a member of the council. He, too, was a commonor before his employment with RRI.
Such a move would have sent the council into an uproar. They were already wary of the company's insistance of appointing it's President from within it's own ranks. When it was first decreed by Lady Kaja, the council had objected. But, as Kaja was it's then President, her word remained final. Now, with a king would not be of royal blood, tensions are beginning to run high. This was when word came that Terre de Conte was seeking eligible young ladies. Seeing an opportunity, Arkady decided to ship her along away from the potential problems that might arise. After all, should she win the heart of the princess, Liza would be bringing quite a bit of influence back to her homeland.
THE CREATION OF ZOLNER
Among the many duties assigned to Lizaveta, what has possibly been the most important was her involvment in the creation of Zolner. It has long been Arkady's dream of developing and building a better suit of armor. Something that can improve a soldier's strength and defense while on the battle field. While Volisov has an impressive and powerful navy, fighting on land has never been their strong suit. Powering such a suit was bound to be an issue. Using steam, or any other natural resource would be highly impractical. It was magic, however, that seemed to be the logical choice. The suit was designed to be powered by (what Arkady described as) the essence of battle. Using old suits of armor and swords, Arkady constructed a new suit...one that could be self-powered. Lizaveta proved to be an admirable assistant in both it's design and construction....but neither could have accounted for the suit's initial test run....and the "personality" that it developed.
Calling "himself" Zolner, the suit insisted on speaking with it's creator. Luckily, it was nothing but gratitude. The cocky suit was a loud braggart, however, and seemed to have only two obsessions. Proving himself in combat...and chasing women. It would later be determined that, as opposed to fueling the suit with the essence of battle, they had instead infused it with the essence of soldiers. And soldiers who saw very little action and very few women often had time to dwell on such subjects.
While the principals behind the little project seemed sound, Arkady decided it best to go back to the drawing board. After all...talking suits of armor that had minds of their own? Hardly a practical solution...
But, neither Arkady nor Lizaveta had the heart to dismantle Zolner. And so, he remains a (very strange) addition to their little family. With Liza traveling the lands to visit Terre de Conte, Zolner has insisted that he join his "little sister" (this despite the fact that Liza is the "elder" of the two).
