THE CHARACTER SHEET
FROM HERE TO THERE
FULL NAME: Rebekah Naphtali
ALIAS / NICKNAMES: None, though it wouldn't be out of keeping for someone to call her Becky or Becka.
AGE: 18
BIRTHDATE: June 19th
RACE: Gibbor, which is to say, half Mal'akh.
SOCIAL STATUS: (Are they from another city in the empire, from the city of Venus, or from another country entirely?) - The daughter of one of the dozen Chayot and a human woman, Rebekah enjoys social standing equivalent to a princess on the surface world below, but very few responsibilities or expectations are impressed upon her.
OCCUPATION: An idle noblewoman in a nation that doesn't have a place for her, Rebekah considers herself a scholar, even though it involves reading what others have written most than any work on her own part.
DOWN TO THE FINER POINTS
HEIGHT: Five feet, eleven inches tall.
WEIGHT: A bit heavier than average for her height, if only because of her wings.
HAIR: Red
EYES: Red
GENERAL APPEARANCE: Rebekah takes after her mother, a tall, slim woman with long, straight red hair. She dresses well, albeit in clothing that allows for her massive wings, and favors white and gold colors that match her wings and contrast well with her hair. She's slowly adopting human fashions, after spending most of her life in the realms of the Mal'akh, as part of her general fascination with the surface world.

PERSONALITY:Rebekah is curious, having been given the chance (Well, ordered, but who's counting?) to spend time on the human world and explore that half of her heritage. She's good natured, if nosy and prone to meddling, but has a tendency to come across as something of a tourist. She's proud of her homeland, and quick to point out how things on the surface don't measure up to things in Mal'akh realms, more out of a desire to compare and inform than out of any sort of rudeness, regardless of the results. In another world, she'd seem like a socially inept nerd, albeit a winged one.
She's somewhat clingy, finding it hard to pull herself away from someone whose company she enjoys, which can be somewhat off-putting, but her genuine interest in those around her and her apparent harmlessness offsets that. She's recently noticed the beginnings of an attraction towards women, though she remains unsure whether it's simply a dawning awareness due to her circumstances or the result of her father's decision that she try to marry into the royal family
[li] Flight!
[/li][li] Experiencing the good bits of surface society.
[/li][li] Surface music. After growing up among resonant crystals and ambient harps, the music of the surface world is invigorating, and maybe even a little intoxicating.
[/li][li] Comfortable surroundings. Her upbringing has accompanied her to a life of ease, after all.
[/li][li] Reading. Starting as a way to satisfy her curiosity about the world below, Rebekah grew into an avid reader, regardless of the topic.
DISLIKES:
[/li][li] The rough parts of the surface world. Coming from the perfect order and hierarchy of the Mal'akh realms, Rebekah is somewhat overwhelmed by the poor conditions on parts of the surface.
[/li][li] Ugly things. Rebekah's definition of what makes a thing ugly is skewed by her upbringing, both by the perfect beauty of her homeland and by the frankly horrifying nature of its inhabitants. In her mind, being ugly goes past the physical into the realm of things that shouldn't be inflicted on the world.
[/li][li] Being without direction. While Rebekah has no objection to freedom, she sees herself on a constant forward trajectory. Freedom without purpose is, in a way, ugly.
[/li][li] Demonic creatures. Though she's never had an encounter with one herself, many lesser Mal'akh spend their time hunting demonic creatures and Rebekah's listened to their stories and read their accounts. She's sure they're bad news.
[/li][li] Being alone. Coming from the bustling Mal'akh cities, where privacy is very nearly a foreign concept, Rebekah finds it difficult to spend time alone. She's typically in common areas or speaking with an acquaintance other otherwise finding ways to be around people when she's not sleeping.

HOBBIES:Rebekah reads voraciously, and practices writing and poetry in her spare time. She's also an accomplished singer, though that's as much a part of being fluent in the choral language of the Mal'akh as it is her own hobby. She sometimes finds the time to practice with her spear, but she isn't very interested in that at all.
BELOW THE SURFACE
SPECIAL SKILLS: Rebekah is somewhat knowledgeable on most topics, and is able to compose poetry as she speaks (In fact, she often makes a game of it). Additionally, she can fly, though it's not so much a skill as it is a condition of her race.
WEAPONS: Rebekah is proficient in using a spear, a traditional weapon of the gibbor, though she rarely makes use of it. Her own weapon, a golden-hafted spear with an iron tip that burns when she commands it, is often simply left in her closet.
MAGICAL ABILITIES: Though it's not magic as such, Rebekah inherited some of her father's ability to adjust the world to her will, typically by commanding a thing to be true. It's tiring, and somewhat unreliable, and things tend to go back to how they were when she stops focusing on it, but such are the limitations of her human half.
FAMILY:
Isil: A tribeswoman from an island nation who worship the Mal'akh as gods, Isil is Rebekah's mother. The daughter of a chieftain, she was to be sacrificed to the Mal'akh before Naphtali descended and ordered that they cease this practice, and returned to his realm with Isil in tow. A beautiful, soft-spoken woman, she became a consort of Naphtali and, within a few years, bore Rebekah. Rebekah is unsure how she was conceived, and doesn't want to give very much thought to the matter at all.
Naphtali: One of the twelve rulers of the Mal'akh, Naphtali is the head of the chorus that monitors the human world. A being composed of wings, light and fire, he's decidedly terrifying, but the terror he inspires is distinctly beautiful. One twelfth of the Mal'akh and their descendants bear his name as a show of fealty and Rebekah is no exception. She loves her father and obeys him, but as a quasi-divine being on the edges of human comprehension, she can't say that she understands him.
BACKGROUND: mandatory
Rebekah grew up in the realms of the Mal'akh, afforded the rank of a princess, if not any of the commensurate responsibility, the gibbor seen as too far from the instinctive unity that guides the actions of the purer beings that inhabit those realms. With other gibbor a rare breed, and unable to comprehend the Mal'akh at her station, Rebekah was short on companionship devoted herself to studying the world, under the direction of her father, living in the capitol of the floating empire of the Mal'akh, surrounded by resonant crystals and shaped clouds given life and marvels the likes of which she scarcely has the words to describe to inhabitants of the surface without dropping into the choral chant that is her first language.
When Princess Anaktoria returned to her kingdom, Naphtali found a role for her, stating her descent to the surface world, and her new position as a suitor. Rebekah was somewhat surprised, neither sure of her chances for success nor her own feelings towards women, but Naphtali's directions were less orders and more statements of what the nature of the world would become, so she followed, as was her lot in life.
She finds that the surface world fits her somewhat poorly, though she does try ever so much
