Character Position Questions

Figured it might help to have something like this, and I need to know for a character I'm working on. One of the other players told me they thought that there was already a 'captain of the imperial guard' in charge of the castle security? Is that true? Who is it, if so?

I'm working on a character in that line of work, it would help to know any existing players.

I think this is the character in question, although I could mistaken. Anywho she's anactoria's personal bodyguard, so I don't know of that implies that she is in charge of the imperial guard too (I don't think that was in the profile but I don't want to speak for someone else's character).

ya. She's just the bodyguard, not so much the Captain of the Guard. my bio filled the official captain in as a male / fathery figure, but I'd be willing to give that a twist if anyone is interested in being a mentor to her in that place. Let me know!

Actually, I think I'd like to take that challenge, if possible. I think I have an idea for a character that could work in that position. Could I get some background on what you might have had in mind originally?

Well, most of it is there next to the entry in Family. I had the idea that if we go with a female captain of the guard, it might be somewhat of a motherly mentor to her, trying to help the girl to prove herself and give her opportunities to do so. She might be a little concerned with Melanie's self confidence. As to whether or not she's aware of Melanie's utter obsession with Anactoria, we can hammer out in private perhaps, so that some aspects of that relationship might be unseen until exposed in play

I imagine that Mela was apprenticed to her whens he was a squire as well, so they'd probably be fairly familiar.

Would it be a problem if we changed the first name, since it's likely now to be a female PC, versus male NPC? Also, although I have the idea for the character and background, I need to find a good representative pic, so it might be a few days before I can get something solid together.
