Chh the woman’s feet were fast, but Rin’s hands were too and after getting a boot to her chest and not the intended target of her face she grasped at the foot and held tight. All the while coughing. “Just give me the box!” Sevi yelled. And twisted both her body and the foot trying to flip the woman over onto the floor. With any luck (heh) she would be able to down the woman and then proceed with whatever came next.
However, if things got too bad it would merely consist of her get getting stabbed by the damn bottle. A risky path she had already started down and would have to see to the hopefully good ending.

"No!" came Dusty's witty and biting retort to Sevi's demand. The girl had a pretty good grip on her shoe and was twisting about on the ground as she tried to topple the detective. As she tried to wrestle herself free, she was sent sent stumbling away.
It was all she could do to keep from landing on her face. Dusty whirled around to gave her opponent once more. Dusty wanted her blue eyes locked on the shorter female.
Of course this did put her in closer proximity to the door. If she could just find some way of getting back downstairs and retrieving her sword. That would make this fight go a lot better. It could also dissuade the girl from continuing entirely.

“Yes!” Came the reply as the girl landed near her. Heh Success! She flipped her position on the ground never letting the woman’s foot go. Her legs wrapped around the woman’s one leg and held onto the other with her arms. Her gaze fell on the woman their eyes seemed locked on each other… or was that Sevi’s imagination.
“I’m not letting go until I get the box!” She said and as if to reaffirm this both her grips tightened. “So just give it and go!” She exclaimed.

Her timely exit to the lobby downstairs was impeded by the girl wrapping herself tightly around her legs. Dusty looked down at her as she once again requested ownership of the box. The detective sighed and would have rubbed her temple if she had the spare hand to do so.
"Seriously, kid, if ya need a job just find some fella with rats in his basement." she said, "That's always good work for someone just startin' out."
On the plus side, her arms were occupied with keeping her leg in place. She looked down at what she was holding. A broken bottle and the small chest she had been charged with aquiring.
"OK, kid...I can either stab ya, or clock ya over the head with this heavy box." she said, "Take yer pick if ya ain't gonna let go any time soon."

“I don’ Need that kind of work!” Sevi said tightening her grip… Maybe she could like… cut off circulation and the woman would give in… unlikely. Of course she could always BREAK one of the appendages… wait what was an appendage and how did she know this word? Ahh whatever one of the woman’s legs.
“Err… if I had to choose I’d say the box…” She had been hit on the head enough by random things… chairs, benches, flower pots… walls. They didn’t hurt as much or for as long as the cut would… and had fewer repercussions… another one of those words. “But wait... why do I get to choose?” She asked as she started to move the woman’s legs apart. Perhaps she wasn’t one of those limber women. Nothing hurts worse than an overly stretched/tightened muscle, well she could think of a few things that did but that wasn’t the point.
OOC: hehe Giant rats and Giant spiders, a classic starting point for many things.

"Why?" she said, never quite expecting an actual response to begin with, "'Cuz I'm just very considerate, that's why."
Obligingly, Dusty raised the box high above her head and brought it crashng down against the back of Sevi's head. As she gently encouraged the girl to let go, a change began to occur within that little box. Whether it was becuase of the sudden jarring motion, the force of the imact...or even the fight occuring aroundit, itself, it started to hum. It was quiet, at first, but was gradually increasing in volume.
This brought a pause from the detective. Perhaps using the valuable little box as a blunt instrument was not the wisest decision Dusty had ever made. She inspected it a bit closer before looking down at Sevi.
"OK...uh, this thing's makin' some unhappy noises. You might wanna get off the ground soon."

Sevi had to admit THAT hurt. What did the woman know just where to hit on the back of your head to make it stun you? or perhaps it was because she had been hit so hard. Eitrher way when her senses were... regained enoguh her groggy head turned to face the woman whom she had been tightly pinning just a few moments ago. At the moment she couldn't really tell just how effective it as.
She saw the womans mouth moving... but couldn't hear anything over the noise... she assumed was eminating from inside her own head. "WHAT!? I CAN'T HEAR YOU?" She shouted without thinking. while she did so her head started to clear and take in more sound.

"The box!" Dusty yelled back and pointing at it with the broke bottle, "I think this is a bad thing!"
As the noise increased, it was getting harder to talk. Well, talking was still easy. It was understanding the other half of the conversation that was the tricky part. Suddenly, the bottle burst in Dusty's hand. Along with several other glasses and one of the windows. It was starting to get quite a bit, uncomfortable and the detective was now considering a prompt exit.
"Screw the box! Run for it!" She threw it clear across the room and grabbed a fistfull of Sevi's jacket. After the stunning blow to the noggin, Duaty was reasonably sure removing her from her legs would be far simpler. She shoved the thuggish girl out the door, eager to get as far away as possible. Things seemed like they were going to get messy.
Again, Dusty had to wonder just what deity she had so offended as to have the simplist of tasks transform into such a debacle.

“I CAN HEAR YA JUST FINE YOU DON ‘AVE TO YELL!!!!” She screamed back though the act of doing so made her head spin once more. “What’s that sound?” She asked hearing it as the pitch increased. As the woman promptly decided for the both of them that leaving the box she had waited here to get behind… in the room… where she seemed to be leaving against her will. Not that she could put up much of a fight. What with the screeching sound the box seemed to be emanating and the effects of the box to her head.
She was pushed and drug out of the room, the door slammed behind them. Though it didn’t help much with the sound… too many cracks in the door, the broken windows… the gap floorboards. “What’s goin…” she began as she nearly fell down the stairs luckily it seemed the vile woman was still holding her jacket… though the ripping sound didn’t help matters. She only hoped the other didn’t let go or tumble down with her.

OK, so they weren't dead yet. That was always a good start. The condition could be very temporary, depending on what the box did next. Only two options seemed to exist. Either stick around and try to find some sort of Off Button, Switch or Lever. Or run like hell.
Dusty had, obviously, opted for option number two. At the foot of the stairs, the detective paused, still holding her newest friend/opponent. Sorting her out was the furthest thing from her mind at the moment, but either way she wasn't about to let her get caught up in...whatever it was that was happening.
What happened next would be a little tricky for Dusty to recall later on. But the sound did stop. Along with every other noise in the surrounding area. It was a complete and total silence.
When she opened her eyes next, Dusty was on the ground with the thuggish girl laying atop her. A soft breeze blew in down the stair case with the scent of the quiet night air. With a grunt, she nudged Sevi.
"You still with me?" she asked. Footsteps reached her ears as the events up in the room had brought the curiosity of the hotel's employees. Not wanting to answer anyone's questions save for her own, the detective pushed herself to her feet and brought Sevi up with her.
(ooc: Sorry for the hold up! Been a little busy, but I'm back and ready for more of Sevi's verbal abuse XD)

It hurt… the woman hadn’t done as she was supposed to. Instead Sevi had fallen… and dragged the apparently unbalanced woman with her down the stairs with her. Well if she was lucky it hurt the woman as much as that beating her head took upstairs in the room.
The woman promptly shoved her off… of course there was a nudge in there, but the shove was more forceful… so more memorable… and annoying. Of course the woman pulled the good samaratin role and helped her up… or rather it was a pulled Sevi up along with her. That was just what she needed. She sighed inwardly. Which made her inhale on the outside.
Her face had been planted in the woman’s stomach and therefore the woman’s clothes. Sevi crinkled her nose and turned as best she could to face the woman. “You need a bath bitch,” she said standing a bit wobily beside the woman. Of course… she probably wasn’t much better, but it was the thought that counted… or the insult rather. She should add to it… nothing better than an insult added to another insult… aside from when it’s added to an injury… broken bones more preferable to other injuries of course. “What goods the useless flab on your chest if yer gonna scare everyone away wit the smell.”
OOC: it was better in my mind… because I had Dusty holding Sevi off the ground… like under the arms at their full length. *laughs*… but there wasn’t enough height difference ; ;
Also... *gives verbal abuse*!!!!

It wasn't easy dodging the hotel staff, but Dusty had managed it. What was even more difficult was shutting up her current companion. As soon as she had been able, the girl immediately began flapping her irritating mouth.
"Ya sure, ya ain't just smellin' yourself? Musta rubbed off on me, shorty." Dusty retorted, "Now keep your piehole shut. I'm tryin ta be a bit subtle as we make our exit. Or would YOU like to explain what just happened up there. I tell ya this much, the City Watch got themselves some rank interrogation rooms."
Down in the lobby, they reached the front desk, where Dusty promptly retrieved her sword. The confused clerk tried to ask what all the noise was about, but got little more than a shrug from Dusty.

Sevi had never explained anything to the guards. Personally she hated the lot of them always buggin her and butting into her business. Also the lot of them needed to work out more. She could easily out run the greater majority of the ones she had seen… err been chased by. “SH… Shorty!” Sevi said as she stared at the woman that started to leave. The crowd and some staffy looking people started to head back their way so she followed… reluctantly followed the woman. Who… promptly retrieved a large knife… errr she recalled it was called a sword. Whatever… it was sharp and cut you. Much better than some of those cheap street Shivs she came across most often.
Sevi wasn’t as nice as Dusty or rather cared much less about her reputation… which was already horrific. Actually the fact she was in the area probably meant she was involved… the fact she actually WAS involved was inconsequential. Regardless as she left the Hotel she flipped the bird to both dusty behind her and the Hotel clerk who was looking her way. “Stupid dead end.” She said as she turned left to get out before the guard showed up. A smirk crossed her face. Late as usual of course, but they’d be there.

Dusty had a decent reputation with the guard. Well, it was alright. OK, so maybe they more or less just tolerated each other. So, when it came down to it, if she could avoid petty confrontations, she would. Besides, she found Sevi first, so it was only fair that she got first crack at asking questions.
A rude gesture was directed in get general vacinity and the suspect was making an attempt to flee the interview. Well, it was less of a flee and mire of a casual stride. Dusty wasted no time and grabbing at the collar of her jacket.
"Slow down there, kiddo." the detective said, "Just 'cuz we out don't me we're done. Oh, no not by a long shot."
She would be asking questions one way or another.
"'Fore I even give lettin' ya go more'n two thoughts, you and me are ginns have a chat. An' it'll be all nice an' civil-like." Dusty didn't want for the sure-to-be-vulgar response, "Who hired ya?"

“Damnit let me go Bitch!!!” Sevi yelled! Her attempts at struggle ended when a definitive rip entered her ears. “Chh you ripped my jacket!” She said angrily, but allowed herself to be taken. It wasn’t like she couldn’t get away AFTER the woman let go of her jacket. This time she would pull a crazy and unexpected maneuver like… running or trip the woman THEN run.
The plots formulated in her mind then were replaced with even more fantastical ones. One with her snapping the woman’s sword came to mind, but she waved it off as too little fun… and probably impossible. Even if it was her she had never snapped a sword or other metal object before. Wouldn’t the sword bend first anyways? It brought up many interesting questions about whether she would be able to think of a way to snap a sword and the variables involved in such a task.
