The Hunting Grounds provided for a very ideal location. Already, Zdena had repurposed it for a hasty summoning ceremony. One that had been enlightening. Nevertheless there was other work to be done. Some of her more practical projects needed attending to. There was an idea she very much wanted to pursue.
Various notes floated in the air before her. A makeshift work table had been set up in an open field. And on that table, all the materials Zdena would need for her work, here, today. Everything was arrainged neatly and precisely. Taking a few extra moments to study the sets of schematics before her, Zdena counted off everything she would need.
The Brass Man was one of Kaja Kilvorion's proudest achievements. Capable of performing a variety of tasks. It's only limitation was the use of steam to provide power. If an alternative could be provided, than it would be even more efficient. So, she studied the original designs and made her adjustments. Now was the time to assemble them into a prototype. Hopefully a functional one. Then to provide a demonstration. It would be one of the more important tasks Zdena carried out during her stay.
As she took her hand off of Effie, the notes vanished. The orange orb ceased to glow and all connection the inventor had with it was gone. But, Zdena needed both her hands. It was a mild inconveniance that she would have to endure. Of course, it also meant getting to work in a project she could actually feel something that most would describe as excitment over. Grabbing her tools she started right to work.
Zdena's hands were covered in heavy leather gloves, her work clothes covered by a thick black apron. It was good to work with mechanics again. Not that her other work didn't interest her. She simply enjoyed getting back to the fundementals and with something that she could safely determine the outcome of.
