What am I going to do? Where do I start? I dont even have a lead to go on. Thought upon thought kept clouding Levis troubled mind. But she had every right to worry. Her mother was to pass by this land in some time... along the way meeting her other mother- Nova. Wait... her mother Aeon met her other mother Nova while venturing through this land. Would that mean that her mother Nova could be somewhere around here? For all she knew she could be passing by her and she hadn't known. Blast the unknown..
"Care for a mug or two of nice warm rum milady?"
"Mm?" Levis thoughts came to a halt as she turned slightly looking at the one who had called her. It was a middle aged male who reaked of the foul smelling liquid he called 'rum'. Though he was a good six feet from her, her sensitive nose caught the undelighted scent he emitted. "Drink... drink with me. I could use a good drinking mate and yer look seems capable.." Levi grunted at the sight, even more as the slur of his words became more and more visible. Now within arms length, he bends over and places his left hand upon his lap. Was he trying to catch his breath? Levi said nothing. She just stared the other down with her grey misty eyes.
Such a sad human being.
She stares at his clothing, rags mixed in with some iron. A rusty blade to his side.. and a pouch to the other. He not only reaked with the foul smelling lliquid but he also reaked of fish and sea water. Was he a sailor? "Mate! Crew meets back at er ship by morning." Her eyes shifted to yet another male, one looking to be sane compared to his comrade that sulked before her. So perhaps he was a sailor or even more so a pirate? Maybe? "Hear loud n clear. Ima just drink wif this here perdy dam." Levis expression twitched in agony at the others speech. Drunk or not, she still found it irritating. She didn't take it from her brother back home, why would she take it from a no good drunken pirate?
As the male before her reached out to touch her shoulder, Levi shifted back as she slapped his hand away. The male lost his balance as he fell to the ground. The rum in hand had met its end as it soaked his clothes, slowly forming a puddle beneath him. "Whats yer problem you freaken broad?!" He yelled at her while holding the broken piece of glass bottle still at hand.
"Dont you ever lay your dirty hands upon me." Her voice as low and as cold as she could let it. "Touch me again.." Levi bends down as she dips her index finger into the puddle of liquid. Taking it back out, she ignites a small flame at the end of her fingertip showing it to him. "...and you will burn."
The drunks eyes widened in terror as he crawled towards the nearest wall, standing up then quickly running back into the bar he had crawled out of. Levi just sighed as she distinguished the fire upon her finger. Lifting it, she licked it briefly with her tongue. "Ugh.. gross." She mumbled to herself.

New River was quite the section of town. Such an odd combination of industry and superstition. But, for Zdena's purposes, it was perfect. As she walked around, she seemed to have familiarzed herself with the locals. At least to the extent that they no longer gave her a second glance.
As she toured the district, a commotion started. A drunken sailor making a pass at a woman. That wasn't new. Of course the woman in question was rather peculiar looking. Possibly some sort of elf. That intruged her, being of some elven decent herself, Zdena paid a little closer attention than she normally might.
And then, the real show started. A splendid display of magical talent. It had to be something innate. Another magic user. She would have to be interviewed. With her mind made up, Zdena approached the scene.
"Pardon me." she interjected, "I couldn't help but notice your little display. If I may inquire, do you have a moment to talk?"

Straightening her posture, she slightly turns and continued on her walk. Thus far the past wasnt really making a good impression on her. Why every minute that had passed, she became more and more thankful she had a extra two year time before being born into such a world. Maybe the citizens of this land would be happy to know that they had a much brighter future ahead of them. Judging by some of the people she had come across, any good news even so it seemed far-fetched would do them a lot of good. But it wasnt her place to say anything- unfortunately.
She knew some eyes were upon her. She expected as much since the situation kind of got a bit out of hand. For that, she could already picture her mother scolding her. At that, she sighed placing both arms behind her head.
"Pardon me."
Another bother? No. Levi yet again is stopped as she faces a petit female before her. For a moment, Levi stared in silence. The woman didnt seem to be drunk. And judging by her clothing she seemed to be tidy and of proper class. Hmm..
"I couldn't help but notice your little display. If I may inquire, do you have a moment to talk?"
She didnt slur in her speech either. Staring down at the shorter woman, Levi then glances off the distance seeing a bunch of merry drunks as they sing a tune of the sea and about some woman they all loved. Then she once again looked down at the other. She had lovely darkened hair.. but her eyes couldnt be seen clearly. Not that Levi minded. She found it easier to communicate with the rose among weeds. "It really depends." Levi manages to voice out as her demonic tail slowly sways gently side to side. "Do you know anyone by the name of Nova?"

The woman was distracted by something. Whatever it was, she hoped it would delay any important details. Other drunken workers could be heard far away, but Zdena didn't pay much attention to them. If she wanted to study the habits of sailors during the off-hours, she could come here on just about any night. What was interesting was someone who could command magic at will.
And thus woman seemed a little professional than that odd shopkeeper.
"No, I am afraid not." she replied, "I am a foreigner, myself. I cannot say I know a great deal about the local population to locate individuals. Is this Nova in need of immediate contact?"
Hopefully, there could be a quick resolution to whatever was the problem. She briefly considered the possibility that a violent confrontation might await this Nova, but didn't have enough evidence to fit this theory. If she could find some way to assist this woman, perhaps she could learn a bit more about how. Magic-user thinks.
You could always try the library, or the archives, Miss Zdena. Effie suggested. And with that thought placed in the back of her head, Zdena nodded her head.
"Yes, that would be most satisfactory." she said, "The royal palace would have records on it's citizens. You should be able to locate her there. May I ask why you need to find her?"

"No, I am afraid not."
She saw it coming, but there was a slight bit of hope in that the woman before her knew of her unknown mother Nova. She sighed to herself as she placed both hands upon her hips. This hunt wasnt going to be easy. She knew it wasnt since the start, but this turned out a bit harder than expected. There were two beings she had to look out for, one being her mother Aeon. And the other being her other mother, Nova. Her mother Aeon shouldnt be too hard to find. Her features probably wouldnt have changed much if at all within the 207 years. Then again, one cant be too sure.
"I am a foreigner, myself. I cannot say I know a great deal about the local population to locate individuals. Is this Nova in need of immediate contact?"
Her attention is brought back to the shorter woman. Levi stared at her again for some time before turning away looking elsewhere. "You could say that." A foreigner? Well she sure did not match up with any of the characters she had crossed paths so far. Upon arriving here, she was in a forest of some sort. It was only the sight of light belonging to this town that she managed to arrive here. But if her auntie Rowans placement was correct, then this must be Venus. She 'could' use one of the mini gadgets hidden in her armor but at the moment, too many people around. Might as well go the old fashioned way.
"Yes, that would be most satisfactory."
At that, Levi looked at the girl more closely, last she recalled all she said was 'You could say that' Was she simply agreeing with her that she could? Though again, Levi couldve sworn she was talking to the little pumple thing she kept with her. Who exactly was this girl?
"The royal palace would have records on it's citizens. You should be able to locate her there. May I ask why you need to find her?"
Levi took a step back as she started on her walk to anywhere but here. The smell of the terrible liquid was starting to get to her. Plus it was getting harder and harder to hear the little girl with so many drunks around. Drunks... was she going to leave the petit girl to fend herself? She did after all lift her thoughts even by a bit of the past. She paused mid way as she turns her head to the side as if silently inviting the girl to follow. The royal palace was her next destination. She didnt forget that the girl asked her a question, its just she didn't wish to answer at the moment if anytime at all.

The woman appeared to be what some might refer to as rude. And if she cared about such things, she may have been offended. A notion that would have been quite hypocritical, given her own array of quirks. Nonetheless, this strange elf was on her way.
It was only after a few moments that she realized she was the recipiant of a silent invitation to follow along. And so she did just that.
"I assume you are heading for the palace, then?" she spoke up, "They do have excellent resourses. Though I have not had the need for researching individuals."
Zdena took a studious look of the taller woman. There was something peculiar about her that went beyond her curious skin tone. What it was, the inventor could not immediately identify. Perhaps it was similar to a feeling that some people had when they first saw Effie, or one of her luggage walkers. Regardless, she would not need to get overly concerned about such "gut instincts" at the moment.

The petit girl accepted her invitation. Whether she did so or not was up to her, but a bit of confusion briefly took over Levis mind before she immediately got rid of it. Was it a feeling of grief? Either way it was gone now. She awaited long enough til the girl caught up with her. Levi couldnt get over the fact that the other 'may' have been communicating with a pumpkin. Judging by the tall hat she wore, was she a witch?
"I assume you are heading for the palace, then?" "They do have excellent resourses. Though I have not had the need for researching individuals."
Levi started back on her walk, step by step as her longated ears twitched slightly as she heard word for word. "Maybe." Levi answered as she spotted the exit that marked freedom from this rum smelling cage. Upon entering it, she quickly felt the welcoming breeze as it brushed through her. Platnium blonde strands that covered her face, pushed back. Having the touch and feel of fresh breeze, made Levi feel rejuvinated.
"Is that so." She then turned to the younger looking girl. "You dont have to follow me if you dont wish to. Its completely up to you." Levi had to adjust the armor she wore. She wasnt used to the feeling of being 'trapped' within her clothing. But her auntie had brought up the fact that since her expertise was on the battle field, a 'knight' appearance would suit her.

As they left the district, the woman visibly relaxed. Apparently New River was not to her liking. Then again, if she had enough encounters like the one with the drunken sailor, Zdena could understand. Sort of.
She, herself, had no such trouble. With her tendancy to be surrounded by the strange devices of her homeland, the inventor had initially scared off more people than she attracted. Others would only approach with bemused curiosity.
And yet this woman was rather curious in her own appearance. Which aroused another question in her mind...
"It is quite alright." she replied, "Following you should prove to be most enlightening. So long as I do not provide any inconvenience to you."
Certainly, she wished to maintain a professional relationship with the woman. It would get her no where if she agitated the woman.
"You are not guest of the castle yourself, are you?" she got around to asking the latest question, "Princess Anactoria is seeking any and all viable candidates. So long as they are female. You match her criteria and I am unaquainted with many of the other guests. So, I ask out of curiosity."

"Following you should prove to be most enlightening. So long as I do not provide any inconvenience to you."
"Enlightening? How so?" Levi asked as she looked at the petit girl beside her. "And... so long as you are not a fan of 'rum', and dont get into trouble then it wont be of any inconvenience." She spoke truth. It was easier to talk to someone whose eyes you cant really see, a higher IQ than those she had met, and another foreigner to boot.
"You are not guest of the castle yourself, are you?" "Princess Anactoria is seeking any and all viable candidates. So long as they are female. You match her criteria and I am unaquainted with many of the other guests. So, I ask out of curiosity."
"Excuse me? Princess Anactoria?" Levis eyes widened her thoughts briefly trying to recall where she heard that name before. Thats right... her auntie Rowan mentioned something about a princess during this time. She shouldve paid more attention. "Could you explain to me about who this princess is, and what do you mean by viable candidates?"

"I find you intruiging." she replied, simply, "You have a curious set of abilities that have drawn my attention. By following I hope to understand further. When the opportunity arises to discuss it at greater length. In compensation for your time, I shall assist you in the location of Nova."
Her tone carried it's usual flat delivery. It didn't come close to matching the actual enthusiasm that Zdena felt. Everything magic just interested her. Not to mention the puzzle that this woman posed. She would determine what course of action to tale with that later.
"You have not heard?" she looked up at her, "Princess Anactoria. Heir to the throne. Her recent dissappearance caused a commotion. She had demanded that elligble women travel here, to the captiol to compete for her hand in marriage. As she said, she wishes to rule with a woman at her side. Or something to that extent. I have arrived late. Traveling from Volisov City can take quite some time. Where have you come from?"

Abilities? Thats right... last she recalled, Levi remembered her short conflict with a local passing drunk. She had just made a spark of fire. Maybe that was the ability she was talking about? "By abilities are you talking about magic?" When noting that she would help assist her in finding Nova, Levi felt a bit relieved. Better two sets of eyes and brains than one yes? But what exactly did this girl want from her? Just to observe if she ever used her magic?

Ahh.. Levi pondered in silent as she looked at the castle off in a distance. "That must be quite the hassle for the princess. Are you one of these candidates for her hand?"

"Yes, magic." Zdena nodded, "I am not proficient at it, myself. So, users such as yourself fascinate me."
As they spoke, it seemed that the woman was getting more information out of her, than the other way around. This realization sparked no outward expression and internally, Zdena could only find it curious. It was a to be a challenge, then. Very well. The inventor enjoyed the mental stimulation of a good challenge.
"Correct." she confirmed, "I am the only viable candidate from Volisov. I hold no engagements and am female."
There were other reasons for her selection. But company matters were not meant to be discussed openly. It wasn't the politics that concerned her. So long as she was on foreign soil, she wouldn't do anything that might tarnish the professional reputation of Rom Royal Industrial.

"I am not proficient at it, myself. So, users such as yourself fascinate me."
Ah. So it 'was' magic. Wait, did she say she wasnt proficient in it? Once more, Levi side glances as she looks at the hat the other wore. A witch that wasnt good in using magic? How odd was that? Then again Levi wasnt really one to judge people unless they gave her a reason to. Thus far this smaller girl was rather a benefiting companion to say the least.
"Correct." "I am the only viable candidate from Volisov. I hold no engagements and am female."
Volisov.. that place seemed vaguely familiar. "So basically any single female is eligible for the princess's hand?" Not that she was interested. Levi was already on the path to reigning over the Excelius Kingdom as Queen as well as Empress to Xescent Xusifiction alongside two of her cousins. Another Empire to rule over would deem too much for her to handle. Thats when she realized there was a flaw in their conversation thus far. "My name is Levi. May I ask for yours?"

Oh yes, names. People did exchange those, now didn't they? Zdena had actually been quite good at keeping up with some of her social graces, lately. Yet, just now, she had gotten herself worked up enough to completely neglect those.
"Zdena. Zdena Kardos Kilvorion." she replied, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Levi."
She certainly was pleased to have met a magic user. Despite her outward appearance, and the glowing pumpkin-like orb, she had no skill in that field, herself. Hence her obsession with all things magic. If she could just figure out some way to tap into that field...
"So, Miss Levi. You are here to locate this Nova, I take it?" she asked, "If it is not to prying, may I ask why you seek her? I al merely curious."

"Zdena. Zdena Kardos Kilvorion." "It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Levi."
"Zdena Kardos Kilvorion." Levi repeated as if to take note of the said name, feeling the sound as it exited her mouth. "Likewise." Was her simple response. Now she had a name to go with the girl next to her.
"So, Miss Levi. You are here to locate this Nova, I take it?" "If it is not to prying, may I ask why you seek her? I al merely curious."
She had noticed it before but thought of it as a passing thing. 'Miss Levi', she thought. She couldnt help but chuckle lightly. "Before I answer anything.. please call me Levi. I have enough formalities back home." She said as she pondered thoughtfully. Of course she wasnt going to tell the girl her full story on why she wished to seek out Nova but she did deserve part of it. "I traveled here to meet her. As well as to give her something."
