"As you wish." she nodded her head. Zdena preferred to keep things formal, but was more than willing accomodate her companion for the day. While they walked, she listened to the simplified version of Levi's story.
"A delivery. A simple enough task. Did they not provide more specific information on her whereabouts." she inquired. It seemed rather odd to be asked to deliver something without providing proper directions. Perhaps it was a situation much like her own. A task designed only to keep one out of the way for a set period of time. This was still only a theory, but it did fit what little evidence was available to her.

"A delivery. A simple enough task. Did they not provide more specific information on her whereabouts."
Levi shook her head, "No.. just that she was located around here, and she should be either with a companion named Aeon or by herself. Either way, I wouldnt mind finding both- though the one I 'need' to find is Nova." Levi had purposely but more emphasize on the 'need'.
"So. What do you do to get the princess's hand? Just basically court her? Is there a competition or battle where the last one standing is rewarded with her hand?"

"A competition." she said, although her tone didn't imply a confirmation, "Probably an appropriate comparison. There are some characteristics of a competition. We are vying for her hand in marriage, although there have not been many structured events. It is a rather...abstract contest."
That seemed to accurately depict the nature of the contest. Although she wasn't all that certain of how well planned out this all was. Zdena wondered if she could have done better...her lack of interest in finding a wife would probably be a bit of a hinderence.
"In my own opinion, a winner shall be selected soon. With the amount of time that has passed and the number of contestants entered, Anactoria must be close to a decision. Unless she is incredibly indecisive."

Levi sighed, "That seems pretty...dull. Not to mention I dont see how everyone involved would get a equal shot at winning her hand. While there are some the princess would meet and sit having tea with, what is the rest to do? I know the princess would want someone fitting of the thrown beside her. Of course theres also the fact that there may be a possibility that she may be seeking not only one that would rule with a kind heart by her side, but one she can also love. Then again.. since when were royal children blessed with the honor of choosing their suitor?"
"In my own opinion, a winner shall be selected soon. With the amount of time that has passed and the number of contestants entered, Anactoria must be close to a decision. Unless she is incredibly indecisive."
"Mm.. to be honest I wouldnt blame her. Its because of the amount of increasing participants and time longated should she be indecisive.. The future of this empire is riding on her choice of who to marry." Levi then turns to face Zdena. "And you? Youre here to win her hand too arent you? How is that coming along? Have you met the princess?"

"It is...less than stimulating, thusfar." she acknowledged. Of course, this was strictly in regards to the contest itself. Everything else that occured had at least ranged from mildly interesting to fascinating. After all, she was still continuing her work.
"True, there are many variables." the inventor nodded her head, "Probably far too many to establish a contest of this variety."
As they walked the conversation continued to hang around the topic of the princess' curious little event. "I have met her once. It was after an unfortunate encounter with her cousin." she said, "She was an odd individual. Obsessed with intense interrogation techniques. The meeting resulted in a falling out between the two. I suppose it was inevitable. But, that is besides the point. Our meeting was brief. I presume I failed to garner any romantic interest. That is not my area of expertise. I do think I made a sound business proposition, however."

Levi chuckled lightly as she nodded in understanding. Grinning she looks away, "By the sounds of that... you werent too into the concept of winning the princess's hand at all were you? And you said business proposition, may I ask what type of business this may be?" Levi asked as she noticed the sun going down. Hopefully they caught the directory in time, did they even close?
"I am not sure if Nova is a citizen here. She may be just a passerby to be honest. Likewise with Aeon." It was strange to call both her mothers by their names. But as soon as the thought entered her thoughts, she just as soon shrugged it off. Looking at the pumpkin ornament time and time again, her curiousity got the better of her until finally, "Not meant to be rude but... earlier today, I couldnt help but notice... did you speak to that pumpkin?"

"Correct. Romantic interests are of no particular concern to me." she concurred. Levi had made a rather astute observation. "In addition to representing Volisov, I am also a representing Rom Royal Industrial. A company that is responsible for 99% of the manufactured goods in Volisov."
The conversation that she was currently engaged in was quite interesting. And it didn't even revolve around magic. Perhaps this woman would be interested in a partnership of sorts. Depending on her income and areas of business.
"Effie?" she looked down at the faint glowing orb, "It is an assistant of sorts. An artificial familiar I constructed some time ago. It was when I first started my research into magic. I figured a familiar would be helpful. With no clear way to find some way to aquire one, I built Effie."

"Correct. Romantic interests are of no particular concern to me."
Ah.. so why was she even in this 'contest' to win the princess's hand if she wasnt interested in marriage? Then again maybe marriage she didnt mind, just romance wasnt part of the equation. A love-less marriage?
"In addition to representing Volisov, I am also a representing Rom Royal Industrial. A company that is responsible for 99% of the manufactured goods in Volisov."
So she was rather more business minded. Levi pondered lightly and she could see the many benefits if Zdena managed to win the princess's hand. Should she fail in attracting the princess, then there was always the thought of a business agreement between the two lands. A win-win either way Levi saw it. "I see.. thats great responsibility on your hands. Ive heard of that company. Congrats on its increasing business demand."
"It is an assistant of sorts. An artificial familiar I constructed some time ago. It was when I first started my research into magic. I figured a familiar would be helpful. With no clear way to find some way to aquire one, I built Effie."
"Effie.." Levi sounded out to herself as she stared at the pumpkin. "So.. you wish to require magical abilities? Magic in general?" Then she blinked at the thought, her eyes once again looking at the same height of a hat. "So correct me if Im wrong but.. arent you a witch? I wouldve expected you to know tons of magic. You sure fooled me." She said still eying the others hat then back to the pumpkin known as Effie.

"Thank you. Although it remains to be seen how successful this venture is." Zdena said, "Still, we are in sound financial shape. A deal such as this could garauntee continued prosperity. I do not take this task lightly, regardless of my own projections for this contest's intended outcome."
Zdena blinked back at Levi, while orb continued it's soft glow. "I am not a witch. I am scientist." she corrected, "While our technical expertise is very high, we have been lacking in the mystical world for quite some time. This something I hope to correct in the near future. Through extensive study I believe it is theoretically possible to immitate the abilities exhibited by those with magical talent, such as yourself. It si ply requires a greater understanding as to how these energies are manipulated and devising a method by which even the most untaleted may use them. The practical uses for such a device are endless."

Levi nodded as she understood what the other was saying. If Rom Royal Industrial controlled already 99% of the manufactured goods in Volisov, it was already only a matter of fact before they started crossing into other lands. And if should her newly aquaintance require more knowledge on how to use magical abilities and somehow incorporate that into her already thriving business the outcomes would simply be astonishing.
She glances discreetly at the other next to her in silent. How amazing such a petit woman could be. To have such knowledge already on anything technical, plus to make a familiar.. who knows what would happen should she figure out how to use magic. Levi was a bit mixed in emotions but nontheless she was impressed.
"So you wish to somehow develop magically infused items that non magic users could purchase and use for themselves?"

Zdena gave a solitary nod, "Yes." came her simple reply.
There was not much more she could say to elaborate on her goals. After all, it seemed that Levi had a firm grasp on the subject she had been discussing. It did bring her to the matter she had been hoping to address, as well.
"This does bring me back to my original query." she said, "Interviews with those such as yourself are invaluable. If I may trouble for a couple of questions in regards to your abilities, I would be most appreciative."

Levi made a smirk, "Sure.. Ill answer the best I could. You took the liberty of answering all my questions as well as aiding me in looking for Nova and Aeon. Its the least I could do." She was being truthful. If it werent for the other, she wouldve been lost as to where to look. Even should Nova or Aeon not be in the directory anything was good than nothing.
"Ask away.."

"Excellent. Than we shall begin." Zdena glanced down at her glowing orb, "Take notes, Effie. I will want a full transcript."
With everything ready to go she looked back at Levi. With so many questions all that was left to decide was where to begin. The logical choice was with the fire.
"You can conjur fire? Precisely how much control do you have...and how do you control it? By thought, emotion or is there another variable?" the curious inventor was eager to learn of the details.

"You can conjur fire? Precisely how much control do you have...and how do you control it? By thought, emotion or is there another variable?"
Levi pondered for awhile before raising her hand, it changed in coloration to that of red. "Its hard to say.. as for control I have pretty much of it. But I have yet to master it fully. But how to use it rather varies from person to person. Some it requires feelings and emotions, others may be physically like may only use stronger attacks when their body had required only this amount of damage. Theres no clear say as to how everyone uses their magical abilities. It varies person to person just like a fingerprint."
Levi then showed her hand to Zdena. "Theres also many forms as to how to control magic. This one is when the magic is contained within your own body. But with a little tweak.." Her hands return to normal as small ember flames appeared above each finger. "..you can actually place the magic outside of your body. But its more for intimidation that I use this. Nothing says 'leave me alone' than showing that you can control fire." Levi then looks at Zdena. "Maybe you 'can' use magic... just its harder to understand what activates it than most."

"There is certainly an abundance of variables." Zdena nodded. She had inspected the offered hand carefully. Once again, Levi displayed her command over the flames, able to conjure them up at will. How interesting such an ability was.
"So, it becomes a matter of determining one's own methods of control...should they have access to such powers at all." it almost sounded simple. But with that much variation, the inventor knew it could be anything but, "Thank you. Your candid response is quite appreciated. Should I have further questions I may call upon you again...where are you currently staying?"
