There were plenty of good places to have a wedding. Many houses of worship existed in Venus City, alone. But, for those looking for something more reserved, there were other alternatives. And reserved could be such a relative term.
Daring Jo waited at the abandoned cathedral. Once an immaculate building it had long since seen better days. It's basement was quite sturdy, however, and stored many a valuable trinket the thief had stolen.
She sat on the alter, sipping some wine from a rather ornate cup, all the while dressed in some of her finer clothes. The suit she had tailored herself and the cloak was a heavy one, collared with white fur. The setting sun was still casting a few last rays of light, the rubble making for fascinating shadows.
This was to be her wedding day. One Daring Jo had never quite imagined she would see. In celebration, she had gone on a mild crime spree, halting many a traveler on her roads as she journeyed up to the mountains. Although, much to her chagrin, she had missed in an encounter with the princess by a mere day.
And it had been so close to her home, too...how disappointing, to miss what would have been a career highlight. But, there would be time enough to orchestrate a chance encounter with the dear Anactoria. She threw a knowing smirk to no one in particular.

As the dark of twilight descended upon the cathedral Zeli made her presence known in the only way she knew how dark and dramatic. Starting with the doors creaking open slightly before rushing open with the air suddenly growing cold and heavy, the shadows dancing in their seats taking up almost all of one side of the great building that is almost all except the front row.
"I hope you do not mind Jo. But my family are somewhat traditional in being that we made the traditions." Zeli said from the entrance to the cathedral. Her outline black against the twilight sky. Though if her outline had shown it would show her wearing a dress that appeared as though it were made from the shadows themselves.
"In other words I have had to bring some of them along. The ones I could track down at any rate." Standing to the side as various elemental spirits slipped in next to her all walking in a single file to the front of the room. Leyley bringing up the front wearing a dress that appeared to be made from leaves and twigs as she sat furthest in the front row, Followed by what appeared to be a phoenix for a moment before with a bright flash a small girl was where it had stood her dress blazing. The Phoenix was followed by what yet again appeared to be inhuman a giant sea-serpent that slowly materialized into a woman who looked slightly older then the rest her dress made of water though much to her own annoyance not one that was see through.
As the final being stepped forward Zeli had to cover her eyes for this was her sister that was the spiritual embodiment for light and had light bouncing off her. As she took her seat wearing a plain white dress Zeli sneered. For this sister was Zeli's opposite in more then just elemental spirituality. The two had grown up being rivals and Zeli still wished she could wring her sisters delicate neck.
Sighing as she gritted her teeth she brushed her hair over her shoulder the light still showing on Zeli slightly revealing her dress and unfortunately as Zeli had made her dress from shadows, everything underneath as well. Though this didn't seem to phase her by much.
"Ah but of course it would be unfair and downright rude of me to have my family along and not have friends or people you hold dear along too Jo." She said her voice echoing warmly from the shadows as Zeli smiled a warm and genuine smile that filled the darkness with warmth instead of cold.
"After all if you are to be my open but still future wife in the next hour or so then you will need your own friends to be here too. If I may I am going to choose Skye as my bridesmaid as if it wasn't for her accursed well curse." She said shrugging slightly. "Then we wouldn't be in this to start with."

Zeli certainly had a colorful family. Jo was impressed. It was certainly a very flashy entrench and if anyone could appreciate an enterance, Daring Jo was that person. She nodded to her bride-to-be and watched with curiosity as the future in-laws took their seats.
"Why, hello." she approached Leyley and the woman in the watery dress, "A pleasure to be making your acquaintence. I do hope we get to know each much better!"
She quirked an eyebrow, "Skye? My, but this is a pleasant surprise!" she took her hand placed a kiss on it, "No more nasty curses have befallen you, I hope!"
The thief strutted to the opposing row of pews and gestured to the seeming random selection of items that where carefully laid out, "This, my dear, may very well have to suffice. I have few actual friends...my profession doesn't exactly lend itself to trust. And those few that I do trust. Well, they can often be hard to keep track of! So I took the liberty of exchanging invitations for a few trinkets to have them here in spirit. Still, some might do me the pleasure of showing up!"
She first took up a delicate looking umbrella, then moved along to metal staff and finally a set of shuriken, before setting them all back into place, "We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose." she shrugged and produced a small statue, holding it up, "Ah! Before I forget...there was a rather fantastic goddess that I stole. I think she would be most fitting for such a splendid occasion. Sadly, I haven't seen since. But, I say why not include her in the festivities! Though...I don't quite know how to fit her in to a marriage ceremony. Let's just leave her at the alter, shall we?"

"It sounds like a fine idea Jo." Zeli said grinning as the statue was placed on the altar. "Still it is great to have items from your friends that will leave them here in spirit. Tell me did you acquire their possessions with their permission or was it another trick of the trade." She joked again before staring at her hands confusion crossing her face. She was not usually this jovial even though most of her jokes could still be seen as something dark.
"But alas it would seem that you are friends with Skye as well. So you can have her over your side she merely turned up following Tilali." Using her sisters true name in spite of her.
Skye nodded happily and crossed the room sitting in the chair next to the shuriken happily crossing her legs. She had always been scared of Zeli so to sit with Jo's guest well trinkets was a far better deal. She gently smiled up at Jo as well and shined her ring showing that she had not been cursed but rather blessed with finding a wife as well.

A giant cloud of smoke appeared in the chairs on Jo's side of the room as Ishi entered the room sitting down on one of the chairs before jumping up annoyed as she had sat on something sharp. Rubbing her backside slightly she looked at the chair and saw her shuriken she puts them in her pocket happily it had been a long time since she last saw her fathers shuriken.
Sitting again quickly as the smoke faded from the room she was sitting calmly in the chair her legs folded slightly and her tail resting on the chair her ears perked up. As she was at a friends wedding she was wearing the clothing she had picked out when Jo had first met with her.
"I thought you said you were going to remain free from commitment." She said happily her little tease just that not meant in spite and easily seen through.

"Well...they were not around to ask," Jo smirked, "But their consent was 'implied'."
At Ishi's arrival, Jo grinned and brushed aside the teasing with a wave of her hand, "A few words must be spoken, but it's hardly an arraignment that will slow me down!" she said. Both Ishi and Skye now sat at her side of the aisle. Neither Toph nor Alumina, it seemed would be able to make it. Disappointing, but understandable. She would just have to keep breaking into their rooms late at night until she caught up with them.
"Well!" she turned to Zeli, "It would se the time has finally arrived, yes?"

"So it would seem." She nodded and faced Jo her family shining in their own unique colour symbolizing their elements in the background.
"So do you wish to speak your vow's first or shall I?" She asked embarrassed now. Another emotion she was not used to, was this marriage truly more powerful then Zeli thought?
Skye contented herself with light talking to Ishi catching up with the young thief and getting to know her. After all if she were to be on the... Was Jo the bride or groom? she couldn't make out as looking at them both they both had the masculine side of their personality level and both had their feminine side there as well. It was truly confusing for the poor girl which one was which so she decided to call them both the brides.

Jo had ne'er been to a wedding before. Well, she went to one, but that was not to o serve the ceremony. Expensive weddings often had lots of pricey gifts and large dowries, whichade for fetching targets (not to mention fetching bridesmaids). So, she didn't often stick around to watch the actual proceedings.
"We do that now?" she quirked an eyebrow, "Well...that sounds good."
Jo turned to the small gathering, "If no one here, objects, I would be more than happy to start things off!"
(OOC: Jo's vows? Strap in, folks...this might take a while XD)

((Looking forward to hearing them))
Zeli smiled and made herself a chair from the shadows, glad for the dark veil she had created to cover her face whenever her emotions shone through. She had put herself into this true but she had not realized the true power that marrying someone held for a spiritual being. Her heart had been lifted and her emotions were shining rather then their usual drear. But still she held her malice close as well so she was still dangerous.
Looking out over her family and Jo's friends she also realised for the first time that she had not truly been abandoned or forgotten, wait Jo was talking now. She shifted her head back to her betrothed and let her ears open to listen.

(OOC: sorry for the hold-up, ran out of steam half-way through writing. But, it's time for Jo to start talking!)
"So....no one objects, then?" Jo smiled and looked around the room. Everything seemed about ready. And seeing as how that was the case, the thief cleared her throat once.
"In that case, it is my honor to accept this proposal. With both respect and a tremendous amount of humility, I, Daring Jo Lockwood, Queen of the Roads, Empress of the Highways, Goddess of Thieves! (I just made that one up) do so solemnly grant this marriage to Zeli. Here before the Goddess of Love, herself. May She (just one of the many women I've encountered who has found my charms quite irresistible) bless this union!"
Jo darted around the alter, wildly gesticulating with her arms. She would even, on occasion, move Zeli around, positioning the dark spirit where she saw fit.
"I humbly accept her as my wife. On this day, being the most suitable for a spectacular ceremony that only I could have organized! I am so very pleased to meet the family of such a lovely woman, as her. Each quite attractive, in their own right." she sauntered over to Zeli's relatives, winking in their general direction, "We'll have to set aside some time to get know one another."
In a blink of an eye, she was over by Ishi and Skye, wrapping her arms around each of them, "I had no idea marriage could be so fun! We'll have to try it sometime! I have plenty of food and wine stored below, do help yourselves! But! I am to be married to Zeli! And a fine bride she does make! If I'm to be wed at all, I couldn't have picked a better bride. Only I did! Hoho! I will love you as I've loved the numerous women I've loved up until this point!"
Jo was back at Zeli's side, holding the dark spirit close, "It's clear to me that you've been waiting for one mortal being in particular. And I honored to be that being! You've gotten quite the catch, here! I don't marry just anyone, after all. If love is what you seek, you need not look any further! I've studied the subject quite extensively and have learned quite a bit! Stick with me, darling, you'll go very far!"

Zeli was slightly taken aback by the expressiveness and the showmanship of Jo's vows and she blushed slightly before getting angry at herself once again. SHe was not supposed to ever show this much emotion, nor was she certain that she ever had felt anything before she met this brilliant and stunning girl who clearly loved to act.
Still it was time for her vows so she quickly de-materialized from Jo's grasp and smiled.
"Before the kiss you've got to let me say my vows as well." She smiled slightly, giggling softly yet again something she would kick herself for in her mind.
"By shadows dark and nights eternal I take you as my wife Jo, So that you can cast a light on my own dark entity and guide me forwards, I give myself to you as my wedding vow for you to do with as you wish and order as you see fit. From now until the world dies and grows dark, perhaps even beyond that I grant you peace and safety in my cold embrace of darkness and will always cloud you when you need it." Thinking about it there was a great many advantages for Jo to marry her as well. For example if the so called queen of the roads decided to do some stealth work she would only need to look to her wife to make even the lightest room dark.
"I also grant you the warm embrace of my body and wish you to be open. For now until eternal I am yours Jo, we may now kiss."

Jo felt Zeli disappear right from within her grasp. Most things tended to stay in her clutches once she had them. But, vanishing brides seemed to be half the fun. She chuckled softly and leaned against the alter as Zeli said her vows. Once appears said in done, she was free to do what she ce here to do.
Daring Jo took Zeli and dipped her low, before planting a long kiss on the spirit's lips. Sealing a deal was never this much fun. She broke it off, probably a little longer than was appropriate for such occasions, but Jo was never one for traditions.
"And, I believe that's it!" she proclaimed, "I never stuck around very long and these sorts of things. People don't like uninvited guests. Especially when they're taking the wedding presents! But, there's food and drink...so I assume we simply will all have to get extraordinarily drunk!"

Zeli nodded her approval of the plan, "That is typically the custom first however hold out your hand Jo." She smiled and spun her finger in a slow loop around Jo's ring finger, Shadows gently tracing out of her finger, after a few short seconds she took her hand back again and on Jo's finger was a pitch black ring that seemed to be alive and constantly reshape itself with Jo's needs and wants.
"You do need your proper wedding ring after all." Smiling she opened her hands out to everyone, "Come feast and be merry on this delightful day when another spirit has found her bride."
((Any plans for our next rp? Something about the start of their married lives might be good))

Jo was a bit puzzled at first. But, realization soon set in as she removed a glove before providing the requested extremity. The ring was not quite what she expected, but it was certainly unique enough to meet her (self-professed) refined tastes. She took a moment to admire the ornament before coming to another realization.
"Oh! How could I have forgotten! I stole a fine ring for this very occasion. Let me see here..."
Jo went through her pockets, but it was like searching for a needle in the hay-stack. Rings from much larger hands were placed on the alter. Strings of pearls and necklaces soon joined them. Coin purses and gemstones of almost every variety. Daring Jo never lacked for personal storage space.
Finally, she produced the ring she was looking for. A shiny silvery piece etched with the same odd crest worn on her signit ring. It gleamed in the fading light, almost as if it was brand new. Jo slid the ring onto Zeli's finger with a, "There we go! Now all nice and official!"
(OOC: good question! I have no idea)

Smiling Zeli pulled Jo into another deeper kiss. "That it is. Its no ordinary ring you have their Jo trust me on this, with that ring most tools can be called useless so it in turn can help with your thieving career." She smiled then walked up and took hold of a large cup of almost clear liquid that she drained half of it and offered the other half to Jo.
((Hmm how about Jo's house? that way we have a house that Zeli can move into and it can start based on Jo having just been out at work and nearly having gotten killed.))
